I remember a couple of years ago I saw a news piece about Afghanistan in which an Islamic woman holding a baby told the reporter the child’s name meant “gift to God”. Not gift “from” God. She said once the child was old enough to do exactly what she was told, she would carry a bomb into the invaders, meaning us. This is the value of life as they see it. A child is born to be used as a walking explosive.
