Perry shouldn’t run. His negatives are too high and he needs to bone up on policy. He lacks the intellectual capacity seeing that he’s only been a Governor in the recent past. He should probably run for the Senate instead. He would be much better staying out of the race and acting as a king maker.

I agree but if you try to reason with his fanclub, you'll hear the responses I posted. ("you want perfection", "you hate perry", "sarah palin's endorsement not good enough for you?")

Perry is on my acceptable list but there's no good reason for him to run and nothing unique he could bring to the GOP presidential primaries. He'd muddy up the field in the primaries and split the conservative vote more, making it easier for a RINO to be nominated, and if Perry somehow got nominated he'd be a weak general election nominee against Obama.

Rational Thought may think he/she is rational, maybe actually is, but he/she is surely not even moderately well informed — i.e. quite ignorant on the facts. Basing “rational thought” on falsehoods, does not generate truth.

RT says “he’s only been a Governor in the recent past. “

The FACT is:

“The Texas Republican, the longest-serving governor in the U.S., “

“Elected Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1998, he assumed office as governor in December 2000 when Governor George W. Bush resigned to become President of the United States. Perry was elected to full terms in 2002, 2006 and 2010, an unprecedented feat in Texas political history.”
