Sgt. 1st Class Jared Monti was actually killed in Afghanistan on June 21, 2006. In September 2009, President Obama awarded him the Medal of Honor posthumously.
On his Facebook page this evening, Monti's father, Paul, posted: "FYI- President Barack Obama telephoned me personally this afternoon to apologize for his error in his speech to the 10th mountain division re: Jared's medal ceremony. Apology accepted."

Obama didn’t care enough to make sure he had his facts right before opening his mouth. He seems to do that a lot.

It’s not as if he gives out Medals of Honor every day. They’re not like, say, waivers to Obamacare. Medals of Honor as so unique, and reflect action so profound, to mess this up is really showing a heartbreaking lack of real caring by the CinC.
It has just been going downhill since he was elected. Frankly I think a lot of it is just God's judgment on this nation for abandoning him and electing a morally corrupt man who thinks it is a natural right to kill your children -- even after they are born.
Well we are, as a nation, reaping what we have sown. It is time we repented and elected a person who truly believes in God and not one who believes he is god.
Apology or no, if you can’t remember hanging the Medal of Honor around a fallen soldier’s parent’s neck, then what kind of a ‘genius’ are you, exactly?

With the current Clown in Chief (CiC), we've got non stop errors.
Just recently, he "Royally" screwed up the toast to the Queen of England.
He read the Irish Priminister's speech on the teleprompter, in which he thanked "the American President."
He gave a blind, English politician a set of American Format DVDs.
He gave the nearly deaf Queen of England an iPod with his speeches.
As I recall, he also gave a "shout out" to one of his friends at a medal ceremony.
It's a new screw up every week!
How does Obama make this speech, then forget the soldier died?
Only explanation: it was just words for the camera. He couldn't have meant a word of it.

I sick of DUmbass DUmocrats and their pi$$-poor attempts to “personalize” a speech through outright lies. It is only after the lie has been exposed do they wish to extend worthless appologies. It is nothing but focusing more attention to themselves without concern for those whom they have harmed. If that doesn’t work, their media lackeys spin it as “mis-speak” when it was a deliberate lie.
Americans in all 60 states have got to be disappointed in him.

You can’t fault Obama for not remembering. Prolly at the first ceremony his mind was elsewhere when the posthumous CMOH was awarded. As president he has really important things to do. Likewise here where he was addressing some military, he doubtless had the immanent downfall of the country on his mind.
Obama really thinks all the world adores him. This audience wasn’t the church ladies from the neighborhood, but that’s just a detail. What a preener.
