The Republican nomination for president is completely up for grabs, but there's a lot of agreement on who the vice presidential pick should be: Marco Rubio, the freshman senator from Florida. My contacts in the Mitt Romney camp are boasting: "Doesn't a Romney-Rubio ticket sound great?" One senior Romney advisor told me: "We think that could be a dream ticket." Operatives from the pack of other wannabes are thinking ahead to the same Rubio marriage with their candidate.

If Romney is on the ticket, it would be more of a nightmare than a dream.
No Romney period!
In before the “Rubio is not a natural born citizen” nonsense.
Say what you will, but the lady comes to town and there's a crowd waiting.
So a Mormon and a Cuban walk into a bar...
Haha, I made it too! I love Rubio and I think he will have a great political career. However, I would hate for it to be tainted serving as Romney’s VP pick. However, if we did become stuck with Romney, knowing Rubio would come after would take the sting out of it a little, but just a little.
No Romney. Ever. With anyone.
This shows you that even Romney realizes that he has no chance of winning unless there is someone else on the ticket for whom Republicans might actually vote.
Why the GOP is even considering Romney is beyond me.
Unless all these little “rumors” are publicity actually spread by Romney’s fabulously wealthy campaign itself.
Why is it “nonsense”?
What do you mean nonsense???
Myth needs to go home, he’s nothing more then a socialist RINO. And from what I have read Rubio is not NBC...
Bachmann hardest hit......
Geeez, are we so desperate we need to look towards this young kid as presidential material????
Granted- Rubio is one of the best up-and-coming, along with Rand Paul and some others.
But until they kick the old-time GOP geezers out of power they have not ‘proved’ themselves enough to me yet. Let them get a few years under their belt. This is where the fight needs to start, and start SOON. Retire all the old-time GOP RINO’s
(and I am a big RUBIO FAN, nothing against him- but he’s just a kid)
Rubio seems like a wonderful man, but he is NOT a natural born citizen. Are we going to change the Constitution before we nominate him?
No Romney period!
///
ditto!!!
...as for Rubio, i have nothing but good to say about him.
however, if we are going to draft anyone,
there is one man who is a proven warrior who has served his country, and honesty is way above even Rubio.
Colonel West.
TWO INELIGIBLE NON-NATURAL BORN CITIZENS.
AND ONE WITH THE ALBATROSS OF ROMNEYCARE.
What could possibly be a bigger dream?
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry that conservatives do not know that he’s not a natural born citizen and thus inelegible to be POTUS.
Rubio tied to Romney would be rotten for Rubio....plus Rubio is NOT ready....and then there’s a little question about his eligibility...whether we want to talk about it or not...it’s there.
Yes, by WND/birther standards he's probably not. In the real world though, Rubio is perfectly eligible to be the VP or President.
Actually the odds are pretty high that whoever wins the GOP nomination will look to ask Rubio to be their running mate. I can certainly see a Palin/Rubio, Bachmann/Rubio or even Perry/Rubio ticket.
The "Anyone But Palin" machine is revving up and will soon be chugging along under full steam. Expect something on the order of a "Flavor Of The Week" exercise where different combinations of Names That Aren't "Palin" will be flung with excessively manufactured gusto against the walls to see what, if anything, sticks.
At some point over the next eight months, every single Republican candidate and possible Republican candidate will have spent his or her time in the hopper (likely a week or two) as the Misleadia's new all-time favorite-best great next GOP president. Just watch.
And laugh. What a bunch of ninnies.
