Would never, ever have happened back in the day. If it had, the Marines would have been way to embarrased about getting whipped to report the incident.
And BTW, CPT Vanden Bossche sounds like part of the problem

The new Obama marines? Vanden Bossche needs to be shamed.

Seesh, what crap load. If true, this is just the beginning of Marines being easy targets for theft. They won’t even be able to carry wallets anymore for fear of them being taken away.

We’re taught how to gouge out eyes, rip off faces, cave in throats. Not a lot of help when you’re being mugged, at knife or gun point, AND you aren’t allowed to carry any weapons, AND knowing that every DA considers you a homicidal maniac with the added bennie of having a slam dunk excessive force charge, AND the Marine Corps will dump your ass in a New York second if you are arraigned in civilian court...

Very PC-ish that last comment. Passive-aggressive. Horrible leadership!
Hey you Jar Heads, this is what the Marxists are bringing to you and the Corps. What are you going to do about it?

Possibly they were band members. The two guys should come down here to Wilmington, NC and try this on any Friday or Saturday night.

Actually, the United States Marines have always been under standing orders that they are individual representatives of the United States of America, and the United States Marine Corps, at all times and wherever they are.
Unless life is at risk, a Marine will obey those directives and not engage or be provoked by those not fit to dig their latrines.
It is a tribute to the training and discipline of these men that they followed orders over their pride.
It is also an indictment of the PC creep and zero tolerance into originally sound rules of conduct.
Semper Fi Marines.
