New York The GOP presidential candidate worth $200 million tells a group of jobless Floridians that he's unemployed, too. Will voters get the joke?
Speaking with a group of unemployed Floridians on Thursday, Mitt Romney offered to "tell my story," too, starting with the fact that "I'm also unemployed." Romney chuckled, and so did the group of eight Florida voters. Democrats were less amused, pointing out that a full-time presidential candidate worth $200 million, while technically looking for work, probably shouldn't compare himself with struggling Americans. Romney's "brand of aw-shucks, cornball humor" has long been hit or miss, says Jonathan Weisman in The Wall Street Journal. Will this particular joke come back to haunt him?
Yes. Romney clearly isn't ready for prime time: The Republican frontrunner's "gift for odd, awkward, delusional gaffes" is almost unparalleled, says Tom Levenson at Balloon Juice. It's no wonder the "ridiculously wealthy Romney" can't persuade "the common clay that he is just like the least among us." He isn't. Stick to attacking President Obama, Mittens. "Not ready for prime time"
Give Mitt a break: It's true that Romney is playing the same "silly political games" with some of Obama's verbal miscues on unemployment, says Jay Bookman at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. But still, "give it a break, people. Seriously." Mitt "was actually being kind of funny" here. But more importantly, it's a long time between now and the election, and we should let the candidates "be human between now and then." "In defense of Mitt Romney, amateur (unemployed) comedian"

Miss the one about the waitress. Thanks. :-)

yes, but, I’m even less of a fan of the US media. We shouldn’t be joining hands with the enemy. We can fight our own battles with our own weapons. We don’t need to validate the Republican hating media. The US news media is evil. We shouldn’t adopt an attitude of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” with the US media because that same media will turn just as viciously against whomever the GOP nominee eventually is.
Get a grip. Perry may have been wrong about this but I never understood why it got to be such a big deal. Governments all around the world and across the states require kids to be injected with all kinds of drugs (vaccinated) before they are allowed in school. I believe that some colleges even require meningitis vaccinations now, they must be super evil. My dogs have to be vaccinated annually just so I can keep them in Texas. How is that worse than Obamacare? Did Governor Perry implement health care rationing and mandatory insurance pools in conjunction with the vaccinations? Talk about hyperbole.
I always thought it was, “You’re dumber than an oven mitt.” But now I see it was actually, “You’re dumber than an oven, Mitt.”

The problem is not just Romney but the uninformed Republican primary voters who nominate only familiar names, preferably a preceding loser.
The things you mention came about after representative legislation. Perry pulled this stunt after one of his staff became a mouthpiece for Merck. He did what he did via executive order. The drug was new and untested unlike the vaccines you mention.
Your comparison of Texas young women to dogs is a bit much.
If you can’t fathom why this shows that Perry is no conservative then you need to get a grip. This Guardasil garbage along with Perry’s do-nothing ways regarding the border, sanctuary cities and the Trans-Texas Corridor attempted ripoff by Perry are more than enough to make people think twice about Perry.
You have your work cut out for you defending Perry. His record speaks for itself and I am far from the only Texan getting the truth out about Perry.
The only reason Perry became the Gov. Of Texas was because Bush resigned. The only reason Perry was re-elected was that in every contest he was the douche running against a turd sandwich.
Perry talks like a conservative. He has even had someone write a book for him where he writes like one. But Perry is a RINO.
He has also had way too many costly special sessions. Why hasn’t he been able to manage and solve problems during the regular sessions.
He is a RINO and people will continue to point that out. Lots or luck trying to counter that.
Yada, yada, yada.
I hope you are kidding. I am not for Romney in any way, and get horribly frustrated that the party poobahs are just ignoring the fact that he was not a good governor and was so poor he couldn’t even run for reelection. The same bastards propping him up are the most vocal against Palin, when she was an ultra popular governor who took some beatings after her VP run in AK, but would have walzed to reelection if she chose to do so. Just because I am against Romney (or Ron Paul or Newt) doesn’t mean I am going to trash them at every turn. Romney is a sharp guy, a successful businessman, and I actually have liked him personally, he’s a very left leaning Republican with flip flops all over the place to suit him at any moment. He is the wrong guy in 2012, without any doubt. He is also very vulnerable to an Obama campaign because they will slice our party in half and mitigate the damage of Obamacare, just like they ran to the right of McCain on the tax issue to win in 2008.
