White House political maestro Karl Rove urged money and other forms of support for Republican congressional candidate Michele Bachmann at a Stillwater fundraiser Friday. The Bachmann fundraiser at the Water Street Inn in Stillwater attracted about 60 supporters, who paid $250 for lunch. Couples who contributed $1,000 to Bachmann could have their pictures taken with Rove. The Bachmann campaign did not immediately release the total amount raised.

Can you believe it? Rove supported a Republican candidate FIVE YEARS AGO. She’s compromised. Vote Ron Paul!
OK, I take it back. Rove’s RINO tendencies were not so obvious in 2006, except to those of us who watched how he handled some of the party races—Schwarzenneger, Chaffee, Crist, Specter.
You really should have pointed out the date from the start.
That would diminish the smear job if the article were properly posted.
Thanks kristinn, I missed that completely.
I reserve the right to revise and extend my remarks! :-)
You really should have this pulled. It has no bearing on what’s happening now.
this is from an OLD article:

# Updated: July 21, 2006 - 10:57 PM
...however, it doesn’t make post 22 untrue:
“To paraphrase Dan Akroyd from SNL in the 70’s..”Michelle you ignorant....”
Is there any doubt now what is really taking place here with the MSM and RINOs praising and supporting her. This is all part of the plan to eliminate Palin and split the conservative ticket so that Mittens gets the nomination. Screw Bachmann. “
...i felt the same, for a number of clear specific reasons. including that while Romney and Bachmann are considered VERY different, she hires attack dog Rollins to attack a candidate NOT running, and ignores the “moderate” front-runner Romney ?
...and then, she ignores a DIRECT question about Romneycare in the debate?
(and if it’s because she was doing “11th Commandment”, then how do you explain her hiring Rollings, who had already been attacking?
...can’t have it both ways...)
Party hacks have alienated quite a few of us, certainly since 2008 but as far back as 2004 for some, such as myself. That’s what the hell is happening.
Back channel scheming and manipulation has become very unpopular here, and now we’re apparently seeing two of the maestros of such strategery converging upon a putative tea party candidate.
And, she doesn’t seem to mind.
This is evidence of some serious back-room dealings. Look for a lot of talk soon about a Romney/Bachmann ticket. That’s what the establishment RINOs want in the northeast.
And that’s definitely NOT what America needs.
The poster has done us a disservice by not showing the date of the article. 2006. The article is from 2006, which makes it totally inappropriate as a source of information on the 2012 race.
The article is from 2006.
Someone please remind me of Rove’s “RINO tendencies.” Is he the guy who predicted O’Donnell would lose? How wrong he was! Oh, wait a minute . . . .
I can’t believe I missed the 2006 date for this article.
That was a different time, different issues, a different fight and a different Rove than the POS Rove of today.
However, after Rollins, I will never support Bachmann.
So who is your preferred candidate?
Maybe a deal has been made whereby Backhmann will run enough to split the conservative base with Sarah, then accept the VP slot under Romney. Rove may in fact be part of this deal. It's all starting to make sense.
If one looks at the action of the elites and RINOs in the context of their primary mission being keeping Sarah out or defeating her, then it makes sense for Rove to do this for MB.
All the elites are vile and anyone who makes a deal with these Statists need to be shunned.
Yeah, thanks. I posted my reply before I read all the way through everyone else’s replies. My bad.
No worries. I think a lot of us had a “Winning The Future” moment until we leanred of the date of publication.
