Gore lauds Romney on climate position By Jordan Fabian - 06/15/11 01:17 PM ET
Former Vice President Al Gore on Wednesday praised GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for his acknowledgement of global climate change.
Gore, who has championed climate issues since losing the 2000 presidential race, posted a note on his blog that praised Romney for being consistent on his position that humans have contributed to rising global temperatures.
"Good for Mitt Romney though we've long passed the point where weak lip-service is enough on the Climate Crisis," Gore wrote. "While other Republicans are running from the truth, he is sticking to his guns in the face of the anti-science wing of the Republican Party."
Gore's message could further provoke conservatives, some of whom objected last week after Romney reiterated his position at a town-hall meeting in New Hampshire.
Bye-bye, nomination, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh said on his radio last Tuesday, The Washington Post noted.
President Obama and other Democrats have also named the healthcare reforms Romney sought as Massachusetts governor as a template for the new national healthcare law.
But as Gore suggested, Romney and he disagree over how to fix the problem. Gore favors a cap-and-trade energy policy whereas Romney opposes one.
We dont call it America warming," Romney said, according to the Post. We call it global warming."
Romney initially favored a regional cap-and-trade program as governor, but eventually pulled Massachusetts out of the agreement over economic concerns.
Gore offered Romney similar praise last year after the former Massachusetts governor reiterated his position in his memoir, No Apology.
Well there you go.
In my hapless search for a new leader to show me the way, I desperately seek an endorsement by Al Gore.
Mittens....YOU DA MAN!!!
(do I really have to turn sarcasm off?)
Nice work!
Romney is political toast. Someone memo him to go home with his suitcases full of hair spray. Larry the cable guy is all over the TV promoting his movie or something and he said NO ROMNEY because he believes in global warming. So Romney lost the redneck, independent vote with this. He never had any others.
Its gonna be a loooooooong, boring, and infuriating campaign. In addition, it is shaping up as one more in a long line of lesser-of-two-evils, double-baloney, media driven choice. It will make me want to vomit if I have to choose between any of the current crop, but it has to be ABO in 2012; we will not survive four more years of the boy king and his cronies.
Nothing Algore has touch has turned out well.
Bachmann will now take the lead. GO BACHMANN!
Bachmann/West 2012
The kiss of death. It should be obvious to even the most obtuse that Romney is most comfortable with Marxist flim flams.
‘Laud’ Help Us, if either of these two hold higher office ever again! Yeesh!
Well, I know who I will NOT be voting for if the primaries get to Pennsylvania.
I’ve been tracking reasons that I don’t want Romney anywhere near the White House.......I guess I’ll just have to buy another spiral notebook to add this latest endorsement by Gore to the list.
We MUST not let the media select our candidate ever again !!!
EODGUY
The crazed sex poodle wants to hump Willard’s leg. Maybe Willard can give him a ride on the top of his car after it is over.
New Tagline.
Gore as VP???
Now there's the kiss of death. The only thing worse is to be endorsed by 0bama.
Gore loves romney
The barak media loves romney.
nuff said. He’s the favorite of the marxist party, like McCain.
LOL....do we have Gore on retainer?
Thank you, Al. You just put Romney in the water with the fake polar bears.
Good riddance, Mitt.
Thanks Al. Keep the praises comin’.
