After teasing it for a few days, Rush Limbaugh made a major announcement on his show this afternoon. He’s launching “Two If By Tea,” what he calls “the best” sweet tea you’ll ever drink. A picture of “Rush Revere” adorns the bottle, “sounding the warning the liberals are coming.”

Tried to buy a case each of the Diet teas, secure server gave a 404 error so I guess orders are going thru the roof despite the detractors here. I’ll try again later - just gotta have those bottles to tweak the morons here that still have Obammy stickers on their cars.

iirc tea starts losing it’s primary nutritional quality 48 hours after brewing. Tea can help remove free-radicals from the body and thereby reduce your chance of cancer.

Selling bottled tea is an oxymoron because it has lost nearly all it’s value. Plus home-brewed tea is much less expensive and you can add whatever flavoring you like:

sugar
vanilla
rasberry
etc.

I agree with you--I turned if off...even though I have Rush 24/7, I'm probably not going to listen for a few days. Hope by the time I turn him back on, he's not doing endless commercials for this new stuff.

It's terribly annoying.

"Perfect timing for this thread, Just got off the phone with a friend who was asking me if sweet tea could be made with honey instead of sugar. What say you all?"

Yes it can, but the honey needs to be dissolved while the tea is still piping hot, and over time (if it's kept in the fridge for a while) it will settle out. Better to try agave nectar. It will dissolve in even cold tea, and won't settle. It doesn't taste exactly like honey, but it has more character than plain cane sugar.

Another option (and this is what I do) is to make your hot brew out of Celestial's Bengal Spice, then chill it...

It's a pretty unique herbal blend, that when served hot has a primarily spicy character (mostly olfactory from the vapor) that has a slightly sweet aftertaste. Curiously, when it's iced, those two properties reverse, with it being primarily sweet with just a hint of spice in the aftertaste :-)

"If you don’t like it.."

If someone doesn't like it then they can complain. That's the market place, you know.

“Making tea must be difficult for some people.”

Very funny! Must be.

I only drink green tea. Rush’s teas are all black teas.

And Rush’s teas are all “Made in America” - except for the tea - lol

Bengal Spice and Almond Sunset are my favorite Celestial teas, but Almond Sunset has been discontinued.
Really miss it.
Hard to find green tea with almond flavor.
I don’t drink black teas.

Republic of Tea Green Tea /Pink Grapefruit is also great.
Can be purchased in bulk (250 teabags ) on their website.

Ever have the Bengal Spice on ice? It’s surprising how much sweeter it comes across when chilled. Sometimes I’ll also blend it with some Earl Grey just to get some caffeine in the mix :-)

“Ever have the Bengal Spice on ice?”

Sure have. I make all kinds of green tea / fruit and juice combinations and freeze them and drink them like slushies.

I love the smell of coffee, but don’t drink it.

“If I’m in my car at 12:07 I will listen until the first commercial break. Then, I switch over to Sirius. All those commercials drive me batty.”

Me too. Was home sick from work today and thought I would tune in. The constant commercialism in show has become dreadful, and I don't want a radio version of Fox Financial News.

It isn't just Rush. All of talk radio is bland and tepid these days, very corporate.

I've been getting this tea at Sam's. It could be run by a bunch of pinkos--not sure, but the tea is good because it's not too sweet. I thought a case of it was expensive at Sam's, but Rush's is really expensive. I know he's donating some of it, so that's good. I'll just have to make mine at home though and occasionally splurge for the bottled kind at Sam's.
