NEW YORK Texas Gov. Rick Perry sounded very much like a presidential hopeful at a New York City Republican fundraising dinner Tuesday, blasting President Barack Obamas economic policies and boasting of Texas economic growth during his decade-long tenure.
The Democratic Party is now the party of record deficits, historic debt and failed spending measures sold as job creation programs that only ended up expanding government, ...
....He cited government statistics indicating that 48 percent of the jobs created in the United States in the past two years have been created in Texas.
We keep adding jobs while other states lose them left and right, Perry said. Those jobs flee other states because of factors like excess taxation, punitive regulation and frivolous litigation.
Perry congratulated the Texas Legislature for balancing the state budget without raising taxes to preserve our job-friendly climate and most of the states $6 billion in our rainy day fund.
In Texas, we cant defer todays tough decisions for tomorrows generation, Perry said, and unlike Washington, we dont have one of those Beijing credit cards to finance deficit spending.

Perry was a late replacement at the dinner, [for] Donald Trump, who dropped out after he quit the presidential race.
The Texas governor said it was pretty cool to speak instead of The Donald.
Hes known for saying, youre fired, Perry said. Were known for saying, Youre hired. Thats what we do in Texas.
Perry talked a lot about one person hed like to see fired: Obama. He condemned the presidents abysmal leadership and the endless overreaching of his administration.
This administration considers profit to be a dirty word, he said.
Perrys rhetoric and his record as Texas governor left the New York GOP leaders mighty impressed and a little bit jealous.

Perry sounds like a White House candidate as he fires up New York GOP "In his speech, Perry recounted a number of bills passed in this year's legislative session, such as new photo identification requirements for voters and new abortion restrictions. But he focused on the robust growth of jobs in Texas during his tenure.
"I'm proud to be conservative not only because I'm from Texas, but because conservatives have won the war of ideas," Perry said. [end excerpt]
Why in the world would he waste his time in my godforsaken state. I wonder if he realized that those GOP folks he was talking to are ready to legalize gay marriage.
Note to GOP candidates: Don’t bother wasting a nickel of your campaign money here........we’re gone.
...... Im proud to call myself a conservative, Perry declared. Because conservatives have won the war of ideas.
Why would you change your name if you werent proud of it? he asked before pointing out that liberal activists now call themselves progressives. You can change your name, but you cant change your colors, Perry said.
Washington is not going to go quietly into the night, Perry warned, before invoking the Tenth Amendment. The federal government was created to be an agent of the states, not the other way around, Perry insisted, while thrusting his fist downward.
The states are supposed to lead the way; they are the laboratories of innovation in our country, Perry said. I want to see New York state again [as] a place where we have to look at what were doing it in Texas because were losing workers to New York. But we cant do that if the federal government is forcing us into a one size fits all.
Afterward, Perry asked the crowd to take out their cell phones and text the word leadership to 95613. Well keep you in the loop, Perry promised a barely veiled hint toward a presidential run.
Are you ready to take this country back? Perry asked the crowd before leaving the stage. From his speech tonight, he seemed to be running for president. [end excerpt]
This conservative Texan hopes he doesn’t even come close to the nomination.
Same here. Perry makes “conservative” noises but his actions show he’s a globalist.

CNN Poll: Obama approval rating drops as fears of depression rise (Rick Perry anyone?)
What a great team!
How about this scenario?
Rick Perry - President 2012-2020
Sarah Palin - Energy Secretary
Sarah Palin - President 2021-2029
Piper Palin - Rose Garden Wedding!
“Help Wanted: Rick Perry on Economy, 2012 “
Thank you for LINK!
I’m watching it — second part just started.
What actions show he’s a “globalist”
Indeed. She set the lamestream media back on their heels.
Between Palin’s accent and Perry’s accent, and their down home ways, the LIBS will be fully occupied with elitist outrage! LOL
He gave Niel Cavuto a cross the table interview before the speech and he is very good. He strikes me as deadly serious with none of the plastic veneer of Mitt and some of the others.
He would not say he was running but me thinks he and others are getting their ducks in a row for a grand assault.
He is the Romney killer
Smart money would say so too.
Did Mr. Perry say what Texas is doing about their immigration problem?
imagine the progress we would make with Palin as energy secretary under a president from Texas? Can you say drill baby drill? Energy is the big issue of our time and she has the expertise to tackle it.
Why?
