ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, an outspoken Republican with close ties to the tea party, announced Monday that she is running for president, a candidacy that could further shake up a volatile fight for the GOP nomination.
The first female contender to enter the 2012 race, Bachmann announced her bid during a Republican presidential debate in New Hampshire.

Sarah campaigned for Bachmann and attracted more than 10,000 in the Twin Cities last fall only to get stabbed in the back by Michele via Ed Rollins. If she disagreed with Rollins, she shouldn't have remained silent.
She sure grabbed the headlines.
Yes, that was remarkably disloyal, and inept. Even the most self serving and treacherous careerist - if intelligent - would have continued to feign friendship and mutual loyalty, and avoided alienating a large part of the base which must be held to be successful. That sorry silence revealed someone who may say the right things, but is both disloyal and a dolt.
>> Sorry, but I have to say I was not impressed by any of the candidates tonight.....yes I understand this was CNN and John King.
When a real leader surfaces and starts discussing the philosophical crossroads this Country faces, then I’ll listen.<<
Let me translate: Ron is waiting for Sarah. (not that there’s anything wrong with that?)
Bachmanns chances aren’t good. Only Garfield was elected President while serving in the House of Reps. And with Rollins at the helm she’ll self-destruct.
As I have predicted, ALL ALONG, Palin has been out in front, taking the heat for, and off of Michelle Bachmann.
But for Rollins and then her REFUSAL to fire him,
she was once a contender.
NO MORE.
Bachmann is a RomneyBOT backstabber.
(RINO GOP-backstabber and poser, Ms. Bachmann):
" Mission accomplished, Mitt.
Rollins whacked (Gov.) Palin (who helped little old hypocrite me) for you
and Pawlenty is next. For you. For you.
Oh, how I love you, Mitt - your support of Global Warming
and your love of ethanol supports AND death panels.
Now, if you wont take me to Kolob,
how about you just ignore me like Kerry Healy.
And then abuse me like Seamus.
And then just send the democrats after me like the Maucks."
Woah FRiend, let's not be hasty in our conclusions.
I'll wait until all of the horses are at the gate and the race has started to pick my winner.
Right now they're all warming up on the in track and I'm standing afar making my decision.
Luckily we still have some time to watch and determine what's best...
I took a guess at where you were coming from......maybe I was wrong.
I’ve waited for her to dump Rollins but the fact that she hasn’t after all this time means that that I have to admit that the Palin supporters were right about her.
And she should have known that Rollins wrote this:
http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/12/01/rollins.palin/
You were...no harm no foul ;)
When are these potty-mouth comments going to stop. This behavior is crude, and not fitting language coming from Conservatives.
The Founding Fathers never used this language.
That’s a McCain rally.
Bachmnan’s the best one running. Santorum is second for me then Cain.
Tonight it was Ron Paul answering all the questions. How can you have a debate when the guy who has 1% of the vote gets to hog the camera? Bachmann didn’t get any questions and when she did King would interupt her after the first sentence.
Pray for America
yes I understand this was CNN and John King.
I opted not to watch the debate specifically because it was CNN and John King.
I won’t watch that network for anything to do with politics. If there’s a natural disaster or something non-political I might stop by for a minute to see if they have anything new to add, but that’s pretty much it.
The Republicans need to have a debate with a conservative moderator on a real channel. I guess Fox News is about as close as we can hope for (for now).
Bachmann is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, a supporter of the Tea Party movement and a founder of the House Tea Party Caucus. Bachmann earned a Master of Laws degree, worked as a tax attorney, opposed the bailouts, opposes Obamacare, wants to repeal Dodd-Frank reform law...
You may want to do your homework.
