Army ping.
Buh-bye clinton inspired Monica cap.
Clintonian asshattery. See ya!
Good.
(( ping ))
as soldiers complained that it was impractical, he said.
“It does not have a visor and doesn’t shield the sun, doesn’t absorb sweat well,” Collins said.

it took our leaders 10 years to figure out we’re practical Americans, not Frenchmen ?
What the f*** is a “Patrol cap”? Are they talking about a fatigue cap?
Berets should be earned by jumping out of planes and eating snakes. It was like giving everybody in class a pass grade so they didn’t hurt anyone’s self esteem.
The black beret should not be part of the dress uniform either. The black beret in the past was for Ranger units. It was earned. Shinseki’a bright idea was an insult to the Rangers. What was to be next, ribbons given out like Skittles? (oops, forgot, one insult to the Navy who got a Purple Heart for getting a splinter while spending Christmas in Cambodia).
Years before I questioned the burnt orange beret of the MFO, a woolen POS with no bill in the scorching desert heat. We were told we might be mistaken for Israeli Rangers if we wore the desert camo boonie hat. My response was the Egyptians would know we weren't IDF Rangers because they (the Gypos) were still alive.
The beret will be back in 10 years. It failed back in the 70s when we were all required to wear a beret of your branch colors. It didn’t last as long that time around.
Amen! Bring back the khakis.
Bus drivers. Hilarious. I missed the blues as Class A and Class B by a year.
Wonder how much this moronic Shinseki boondoggle cost the American taxpayers....
I hated those stinking things that we had to wear at Fort Campbell, Kentucky back in the 1970s. I hated those stinking things. Glad to see them go. I was a patrol cap type hat man myself. Good move.
Hopefully the caps will be MADE IN AMERICA, not like the black berets, which a majority were made in china.
Here's the one obama probably wants them to wear.
But no matter which cap, I bet it will be made in China.
I think the berets look nice but it does seem they would be impractical.
My Nephew gave me his floppy hat, I guess they were issued to them in basic. I really like it for just walking around the yard etc. as it keeps the sun off. I have noticed it hampers your vision somewhat.
I have heard the old Corinthian helmets worn by the ancient Greeks ran up to 10 pounds. They must have been really tough to wear and it looks like they would have cut down on your vision and hearing. On the other hand, they probably gave really good protection.
No more ‘Monicas’?
