Newt is through.
Romney has way to much baggage with Romneycare and man-made global warming.
Ten years as governor of a real state is significant.
Perry and Cain both have business experience and can explain the economy.
Perry has an immigration problem, but his stand was necessary in Texas.
Sorry, I don’t have Stockholm Syndrome, nor am I driven by irrational fear of general election polls over a year out of the race. I’ve seen the Rick Perry movie before and it ends with a Kenyan in the White House. No thanks.
I am a Cain fan but which of the two brings foreign policy experience? This would be an achilles heel for this ticket.
Did Perry put the sanctuary city bill on the list for the special session?
Are you asking a question? And exactly why was Perry’s stance in Texas necessary? So he could lie and get elected? I would have much preferred that he stand by the law and say illegal aliens means illegal entry which warrents being immediately deported to your home country where you belong instead of being held up and fed by taxpayers only for the feds to release them again.
Right now I don’t want somebody who is soft on our illegal alien problem. I want somebody prepared to uphold the law...every word of it.
No. No. And no again. Perry has many more problems than immigration - DREAM Act, Texas Corridor, barely makes it to RINO status and then only during election time, etc. What’s this you say about it being necessary for Texas? That makes no sense no matter how it’s meant.
The general public would never put another Texan in office this soon after the Bushes. I don’t know that the next round would be a long enough time and yes, I’m a Texan.
Newt, Romney, Obvious to the most casual observer, they’re done before they start.

“You, and Perry, will get no sympathy or support making excuses for the inexcusable on FreeRepublic.”
Voter ID bill. Sanctuary city bill. I support that.
The bottom line against Perry is that the things he chose to lead on were things like Gardasil and the Trans Texas Corridor. On both issues, it took massive public outcry to stop him from getting his way.
Remember when we had to stomp our feet to get Bush to stop with Harriet Myers? Dubai Ports? Amnesty?
This country is on the verge of complete collapse. We CANNOT afford someone who needs the people of this country to tell him what common sense is. We need someone who can LEAD and LEAD in the RIGHT DIRECTION!
Last I knew you don't speak for Free Republic. And I for one would support a Perry/Cain candidacy in a heartbeat. Not all of us are Palin Worshipers.
My guess is that the Newt debacle means he had surrounded himself with progressives. That says a lot about the man.
And you know this how? Sounds like one man's opinion to me.
WTF? What sort of RINO talk is that?
If there's anyplace where a firm stand should be taken against illegal immigration, it's Texas. We're being inundated with illegals.
Perry's continual failure to do so is evidence of his total lack of qualification to be president.
I don’t hate Rick Perry. I just don’t think he’s what we need right now. While I’d still be concerned about him becoming president in the future, I’d be more than happy with that ticket.
Perry is not the guy. He hasn’t even put the anti groping bill on the special session agenda. It has overwhelming support in the Texas legislature. This is the guy who signed a bill forcing people to get their 13 year old girls a Gardisil vaccination. Forget it.
