The Tea Party will support whoever wins the GOP presidential nomination - - even if that person is former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. That's the affirmative word from Tea Party Express chair Amy Kremer.

The real tea party does not endorse RINOs!! Kremer screwed the pooch!!
They won’t have my vote!
Nor me.
Tea Party should be capitalized, Jack. It means something and it ain’t a place where you eat crumpets.
The only reason to make this announcement is to putposely undermine all the other good and excellent choices we have.
Romney? Patooie!
She looks like an idiot.
Yes there is. It's to counter Sarah Palin's recent statements and to boost some putative Republican frontrunner at this stage of the game.
From what I read about her she is a trouble maker. She is a fake and is always trying to play both sides to stir up things. I wonder who is really backing her.
It just shows she hasn’t a clue as to what the tea party is about.
agreed! when anyone in the tea party, start’s speaking for the tea party as a collective, look out. if they will take my protest, i’ll email them.
You one of those “turd party” morons?
I agree. Who is this self-appointed clown named Amy..whatever..
I respect anyone who says they won’t vote for Mitt. I really do. I certainly won’t vote for him in the primaries, but I’d crawl over broken glass to vote anybody but Obama in the general election. It makes me feel dirty even contemplating such a choice, but there’s no shame in voting (or not voting) for the Republican nominee if they aren’t conservative. I won’t get into the business of condemning folks for voting their conservative convictions.
Bottom line: let’s work to ensure Mitt is NOT the nominee so we aren’t forced with such a dilemma. Personally? I don’t think Mitt has a snowball’s chance. He’s going to fade quickly once Governor Palin or her anointed candidate (Bachmann? Cain?) is in the race.
We don’t have a chairman. Sorry, for all the posts. People like this make me mad.
You had to vote for McCain because he was the only choice. I am confident to say you would rather eat buckshot than vote for the ‘alternative’...
Hey Amy,
If you think the tea party should back ANY Republican just because they have an “R” behind their name and never mind their anti-liberty socialist ways, you have no idea what the tea party rebellion is all about. You are a disgrace and damned traitor to the cause. Hope to hell you get LOST!!
I pray the rest of the TPX does not sink so low.
Rebellion is brewing.
We fight these socialist RINO sons of bitches, we DO NOT endorse them!!
Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!!
I don't remember signing up for Ms. Kremer's choice. I would bet that most Tea Party members, being the product of a grassroots movement, have not done so as well.
Kremer went on to say the Tea Party is "completely neutral," adding that it "just wants to see the cream rise to the top... If Romney is the nominee I believe that we want to defeat Barack Obama."
That 'cream' you see rising to the top is of the sour kind.
Kremer also wants to put to rest the idea the Tea Party would support a third party candidate, insisting the tea party can work from within the democratic and republican parties.
Where did this self-appointed voice of the Tea Party come from? Is she some type of plant given an 'official' title by the mainstream media? Something is not right here.
Do any FReepers have some knowledge on this subject?
Well, Tea Party Express in only one branch of the Tea Party movement. The Tea Party is NOT a party as the liberals keep trying to portray it and they are not about the GOP, they are about limited government and Romney is NOT about limited Government.
I agree.
I don’t see Romney fading, he has all the money and organization he needs, he has everything that the GOP and media can give him, he is obsessed with being president and erasing his father’s shame, and he knows that this is a do or die race, his final one.
Romney will be in until the he attains the moderate wings goal which is for him to win, or to at least stop any conservative takeover of the party.
