Republican Romney: 'the world is getting warmer'

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.

"I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that," he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.

"It's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors."

The former Massachusetts governor fielded questions on topics ranging from the debt ceiling to abortion on his first official day of campaigning for 2012 Republican primary nomination.

Romney leads opinion polls in New Hampshire by a wide margin, and is among the top contenders nationally to win the Republican contest to challenge Democratic President Barack Obama.

He certainly hasn't been reading the REAL science on this issue.

...Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy....

Odd how the debunked "consensus" isn't the orthodoxy on Planet al-Reuters', but the skeptical dissent, routinely ridiculed by the elitists, is.

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.

Of course he broke with 'Republican orthodoxy'. Grovelling at the feet of the left. Let's replace Zero with a spineless RINO.

"I believe the world is getting warmer".

I believe Romney is feverish...he's talking like someone in the throes of Yellow Fever.

Romney leads opinion polls in New Hampshire by a wide margin, and is among the top contenders nationally to win the Republican contest to challenge Democratic President Barack Obama.

I suppose that Reuters believes Sarah Palin has been relegated to 'Non existent person'status..

The former Massachusetts governor fielded questions on topics ranging from the debt ceiling to abortion on his first official day of campaigning for 2012 Republican primary nomination.

...and his positions on these topics are what? I can take a not so wild guess.

Romney's answer provided plenty of wiggle-room, Hillinger said, but "he is taking a more forthright stand than any of the other candidates."

Come again? Forthright wiggle room? I'm having a hard time reconciling the two.

I wish he would switch parties.

He already has scooby. The only thing missing is an official announcement.

Typically I will not carry debate to another thread. This an example that shows the state of the Republican Party.

No, that is typical of Romney, not the Republican party. Given the chance to vote on Cap and Trade, virtually every Republican voted against it. Further, most campaigned effectively against it in 2010. I detest Romney and consider him nothing more than a political chameleon who probably won't win the nomination. Say that though, I will vote for whomever the eventual Republican nominee is even if that person isn't my first, second, or even eight choice. It is absolutely critical that Hussein not get another 4 years in office.

Your advocating going 3rd party if you don't get your way is lunacy. We don't have time for that nonsense. If you want to go 3rd party some already exist. You can vote Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, or heck, maybe Perot's ridiculous Reform Party is still around.

The Republican party is what it's primary voters determine it will be. Mobilize, organize, etc, with other movement conservatives and Tea Party folks and you'll have your chance to push the GOP further and further to the right.

I'll vote for Sarah Palin. Period. Know that I completely support your right to vote for whomever you want to.

It’s going to get real hot real soon for this doofus.

Is it something in the air that is driving these RINOs to self destruct right out of the gate?

At this point his investments need to be checked. I’m sure he and other RINO’s are heavily invested in the world Carbon market that is starting to fail, like the Chicago Carbon Exchange (Obama/Rahm...etc).

Follow the money.
