No, that is typical of Romney, not the Republican party. Given the chance to vote on Cap and Trade, virtually every Republican voted against it. Further, most campaigned effectively against it in 2010. I detest Romney and consider him nothing more than a political chameleon who probably won't win the nomination. Say that though, I will vote for whomever the eventual Republican nominee is even if that person isn't my first, second, or even eight choice. It is absolutely critical that Hussein not get another 4 years in office.
Your advocating going 3rd party if you don't get your way is lunacy. We don't have time for that nonsense. If you want to go 3rd party some already exist. You can vote Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, or heck, maybe Perot's ridiculous Reform Party is still around.
The Republican party is what it's primary voters determine it will be. Mobilize, organize, etc, with other movement conservatives and Tea Party folks and you'll have your chance to push the GOP further and further to the right.
