Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin was already stealing a bit of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romneys thunder by scheduling a trip to New Hampshire the same day the former Massachusetts governor made his presidential announcement. Now shes gone a step further, attacking Romney on health care moments before he officially enters the race.
In my opinion any mandate coming from government is not a good thing, Palin told reporters outside Bunker Hill in Massachusetts, the latest stop on her whirlwind bus tour up the east coast that began on Sunday.
[E]ven on a state level and even a local level, mandates coming from a governing body, it's tough for a lot of us independent Americans to accept, because we have great faith in the private sectors and our own families, and our own businessmen and women making decisions for ourselves.
Twisting the political knife in a bit further Palin said that appealing to the tea party will be a big challenge for Romney.

Sheesh, I'm certain he's furious.
I believe the nomination and the presidency belong to he or she who step up and take it. If she can do that, my hat is off to her and I’ll be a lifelong Palinbot. If she’s too affable, or too PC, or too wimpy, she won’t make it. She’s a daisy if she does.
Romney should have refuted Romneycare. Defending it is idiotic. She’s carving out conservatives and this will force Romney to hold the middle. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Exactly and great analysis. Palin is working with pros now. Romney’s advantage is in money and connections. That doesn’t play well against populism.
I do not agree.
We can no longer allow the GOP brand to be soiled. Either the GOP steps up and honors the planks of the party, or it must be eliminated from the body politic.
We need a strong advocate for conservatism...and someone of principle...at the top of the ticket lest we forever relegate the nation to two socialist parties.
We would be better off with Obama than Romney...IF we survive either of those four year periods.
From the ashes of a 2nd Obama term (assuming the nation survives) we could rebuild on conservative principles. From the ashes of a Romney term (again, assuming the nation survives)...the GOP will have nothing to offer and conservatism would not have a political party.
This primary is it. The turning point for better or worse.
Say no to RINOS - IBTZ!!
You sound like an invitation to a ZOT....Where’s my hellcat?
Not very graceful of her. Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment was a pretty good rule. I hope Governor Palin is not going in the direction I fear she may be going.
WOO-HOO!!! Go,Sarah,Go!!!
Since when is Romney a real Republican?? I’m pretty sure Reagan meant it for non-statist,non-Marxist Republicans.
Nail on the head. Btttt
Apparently, so does Sarah Palin. Her comments today (in Boston) aimed at Mitt Romney show me that she is determined to embrace conservative principles and not back down, whether she chooses to run or not. This re-affirms my choice of Sarah Palin as the GOP presidential candidate in 2012 - if she chooses to run. Supporting her does not make me a member of a 'cult' or any of the other slurs thrown at those who admire Sarah Palin and hope she'll decide to run against Obama. It is my personal recognition of her value as a political candidate in a time when the Democrats offer us socialism and the Republicans offer use a slightly weaker form of socialism. No thanks. I'll take Sarah Palin - for two terms, thank you.
Anybody but Romney.
Yep. And FR opposes Romney anywhere near government. You might want to rethink your Romney adoration.
NOTICE: FR DOES NOT AND WILL NOT SUPPORT ABORTIONIST, GAY RIGHTS PUSHING BIG GOVERNMENT STATISTS
but hell, the worst RINO is better than Obama.
Why? You think the slow road to socialism is better than the fast one?
I actually cheered when I heard Romney on the radio saying how Obama is a failure, has failed America and he has done great damage to America and made all things worse.
That's just a hoot since Obamacare is modeled on Romneycare and Romney supports the homosexual agenda.
Why would you vote for a Dem with an "R" behind his name?
Drifted over to Chrissie, he had Fineman on and they were ripping Mittens to bits, while dissen Sarah Palin for dissen Mittens. Said Palin told Mittens from Bunker Hill to forget about Tea Party support, ain’t gonna happen.
OK, I’m gone, they are now off to wienerizing Weiner’s bulge or something.
That is so on-point. You need to be on her staff. How do I sign you up?
(And how do I get her to accept what I’ve signed up?)
Every Republican is better than Obama save the Libertarian infiltrator LRon Paul.
No. Conservative or no sale. RINOs like Romney are worse, the slower downward spiral is more painful. Not to mention RINOs like Romney,McCain,Huckabee,Newt,Rudy are are far more obnoxious.
