"How am I paying for it? SarahPAC," she said, adding that she's traveling in "our own personal motor home that we've had in Alaska."
Palin didn't answer when asked how long she's owned the bus that's adorned with the Constitution and a larger-than-life version of her signature. When asked, twice, how much her "One Nation Tour" has cost four days into the trip, she got visibly irritated.
"Check SarahPAC.com," she said. "I don't know why in the world you would ask a question like that. I'm just thinking about America and our foundations and our freedoms and our opportunities. Why would you ask something ..."
ABC News pointed out that she often talks about the economy and how much money we're spending.
"What does our economy have to do with how much we're -- I'm not asking you to pay for a penny of this trip," she said.
Cue the national anthem: the conversation was cut short when a group of school children visiting the monument launched into "The Star Spangled Banner."
SaraPAC.com does not currently offer any information about how much money has been spent on the tour. It does, however, feature a big green "Donate" button, inviting visitors to help fund Palin's trip across the nation.
donate????? => Adverisements on sites like Drudgereport.com also encourage Palin fans to donate.
Ask Barry how much THIS cost us!
Sarah Palin doesn't owe ABC an explanation about how she's paying for her trip, if they're not interested in asking others the same question.
I contributed 100.00 so far and I’m working up as much as possible.
Comprende?
“Deep thoughts” from government-limo land...
"Extra, Extra: Palin gets money from conservative sources!!!!" Wow, what a scoop.
Sadly, liberals are not confused and her comment is perfectly consistent with liberal belief: There is no such thing as private citizen's money. It all belongs to the government and they, in their benevolence, allow you to keep some of it. When you understand that is their belief system, her question is right in line. Scary, isn't it.
That's according to the "journalist." Is she reporting truthfully? Or, is she merely expressing her fondest hope?
I’ve noticed that as well. And some actually voice it, expressing what they truly believe: it’s “society’s money”.
They have been indoctrinated into a worldview whose assumptions include universal collectivism.
Visibly irritated as opposed to invisibly irritated, I suppose. Either way, she got it. ;-)
Wow! This is journalism? So I checked Sheila Marikar's Linkedin page: BA, History, Cornell. Those historians do a lot of writing don't they? I guess they gots to.
i disagree. being a private citizen, she doesn’t have to answer such a question... and shouldn’t. your answer sounds evasive as if it’s trying to hide something.
the answer:
“as a private citizen, my travel expenses do not cost the taxpayer one cent.”
Someone should add up the amount spent on jet fuel alone for BO’s and Moochelle’s many trips, all of them charged to the U.S. taxpayer, who is too broke to take a family trip. More power to the Palins for being able to tour the country with their family on their own dime. That is truly refreshing.
Yep. I've thought this could be a problem for a while. Lot's of folks are giving money in hopes of her running. If she doesn't, there will be some fallout.
Is there a more useless “profession” in the galaxy than “celebrity gossip reporter?”
Bingo.
...she also posts at HuffinPuff
Some Purporter who believes that attacking Sarah Palin with a weak “assault” veiled as a “story” will convince us that she’s legit.
Good answer, Sarah!
Charlie Cook: “She’s making more money now than God ever intended her to make”
When you compare this statement to the dismissal of the 0bama’s spending OUR money,
you’ll see that they think the “ruling class” SHOULD live this way, and anyone else that is enjoying life is
“getting uppity”, or “assuming airs beyond one’s station” as the OLD feudalists used to say.
I wouldn’t doubt if the “neo-feudalists” start letting it slip more and using terms like this.
