Just when it appeared Sarah Palins road trip for America couldnt confound reporters any further, she has decided to take a significant detour straight into the heart of Manhattan no, not to visit Grants Tomb or get an autograph from the Naked Cowboy, but to meet with (still) potential challenger Donald Trump. ABC News Michael Falcone was the first to tweet the meeting of the minds, quickly followed by a blog post that does little to elucidate the thinking behind the meeting.
According to Falcones report, the meeting was Palins idea, and the two have agreed to convene at Trump Tower before heading out for a low-key dinner:
Sarah Palin plans to meet Tuesday night with Donald Trump in New York City, according to sources close to Trump.
Her office reached out to meet with Trump. The two plan to meet in his 45,000-square-foot apartment in Trump Tower and later plan to eat dinner together.
Sources say the restaurant will be low-key, not one of New Yorks more upscale dining establishements.
Palin has been on a multi-stop tour of the East Coast for the last two days visiting historical sites, sometimes dodging the press, sometimes speaking to them.

Big mistake indeed. Trump is just using her. Question is why us she letting him.
I don’t think she sees him as an ally so much as a competitive threat she has to neutralize. At two levels. Trump had great polling numbers because he appealed to the no-nonsense independents in a big way. Sarah wants a piece of that pie, and by association she can peel some of that in her direction. Furthermore, if she can cajole him into either giving intel about his own intentions, or if she can persuade him to keep his head down and let her be the tip of the spear, she’s looking at a much cleaner field of play. General Palin, I dare say.
Uh, article states she was the one who asked for the meet up, maybe Trump is the one who needs to watch his six.
Maybe Herman will drop buy!
LLS
So how would you describe it? A High-strung dinner? A Pretentious Dinner? What?
Very perceptive of you. I didn’t see Trump laughing at that dinner where he was repeatedly insulted.
What else ya got, Sport? And where you hearing this stuff? The office copy machine or the local tavern?
Oy. Why do some continue to underestimate Sarah?
Using her for what? Come on - play it on out.
Thought you would take a hint when we’ve ignored you for days. This is not spam.
Stop with the abuse reports already.
Outside of politics, perhaps she’s trying to line up Bristol for Celebrity Apprentice next season?
We have a different concept of spam. I just don’t think that the birthers are winning any new adherents. Those who are interested in the issue go to their threads. Those of us who aren’t, don’t.
This inane repetition does not pique my interest - it does the opposite, in fact.
Maybe Trump's Run was all about building a block of voters, i.e. big money construction donors / Wall St types that have had it with "O" and are looking for a free market Champion. Maybe he was trying to ferret out a top dog, maybe he has found one.
Can you imagine Trump's "Rolodex"?
Or, she is picking Trumps brain about what the building industry is up against with all kinds of code, tax code and the lack of capital and needs to learn more from his perspective....
I tend to agree with you entirely. I see this as a stroke of genius.
Off the record guess.. I'll bet she charms into being one of her BEST OUTSPOKEN allies while soliciting his support and a healthy donation.
My point: He can say some profound things on her behalf that she CANNOT.
We shall see.
Although she might be having dinner with someone else that had the cajones to stick it in bummers eye (and the media.)
We certainly do.
Lose the tagline.
LOL! Congratulations. You just hit the nail on the head on both counts. Your abuse reports spam has progressed from a mild irritation into a serious annoyance. Kindly stop.
Is Laz in trouble again?
It's my understanding that Palin initiated the meeting with Trump.
Good conjecture / assessment. Palin ain't stupid and she's a planner.
