George Will: Everyone Knows Sarah Palin Should Not Be Trusted With Nuclear Weapons
Mediate ^ | Sunday May 29, 2011 | Matt Schneider

With Sarah Palin fever sweeping across the media again, persistent Palin critic and conservative commentator George Will clearly was not excited by the speculation surrounding her potential run for President. Donna Brazile, Jonathan Karl and Ed Gillespie joined in on the conversation, yet Will had the most pointed remarks regarding how Palin is a “genius at manipulating” the infinite media attention she receives.

Christiane Amanpour began the segment commenting “no one steals a show like Sarah Palin,” and while Will admits she will have a huge impact on the nomination process if she does decide to run, he still dismisses the idea that she has even the slightest chance of winning. Will suggests Palin’s problem:

“The threshold question, not usually asked, but it’s in everyone’s mind in a presidential election. ‘Should we give this person nuclear weapons?’ And the answer [in Palin's case], answers itself.”

Why won’t Will ask the REAL question: Should a man who has a close relationship with someone who tried to blowup the Pentagon be trusted with nuclear weapons?

“‘Should we give this person nuclear weapons?’” should have been asked of the Muslim Communist candidate by the people who voted for him.

I wouldn’t have any worry with Gov. Palin in charge.

George, you ignorant elitist, Obama cannot be trusted with ANYTHING precious or powerful.

Would you want to be in the same room with him if he were carrying a BB gun?

George, if you are afraid of Palin controlling our nukes, is it because you are afraid that there might be an occasion that she might actually USE them? Is that the problem?

If any President is perceived as being unwilling to EVER use our nuclear arsenal, then that arsenal and that president are essentially USELESS as a deterrent to attack against America.

Keep your enemy guessing, George. Sarah is GREAT at keeping you Beltway Pundits guessing. That is far better that their assuming that we are “spring loaded to the Negotiate, then Yield philosophy that prevails among Pundits, Lifetime Politicians and Academe.

Our enemies still know that they must FEAR our military. However, they also know that our military is subject to CIVILIAN control. An our current crop of civilians are wusses.

Weakness and Timidity invite ATTACK.

From the article:
...persistent Palin critic and conservative commentator George Will...

It seems George has finally established an identity for himself in his declining years...he's a withering oxymoron.

If Will combs that ‘combover’ to aggresively the whole thing will either slide off his scalp or end up on the floor.

Sheesh, where to start?

Should we trust the nuclear football with an anti-American communist or with a pro-American ex-Governor who believes in American Exceptional ism?

And, isn't this the VERY same campaign they ran against Goldwater?

The parallels are striking. Both considered "too right wing" by even their won party. Insurgency campaigns. Destruction of "elite" control in favor of populism.

The only place I hop it varies is in the final outcome.

And, it's important to note ANOTHER George Will quote from 1980: "It took 16 years to count all of the votes, but Barry Goldwater has won the election".

The beltway elitists are no different from the European elitists (IMF, Brussels, etc).

.Sarah Palin, who is not an attorney, doesn’t have an ivy league degree, was raised in Alaska and is without any pretense to the pseudo-sophistication most politicians like to adopt, must seem like an unwelcome, uncouth gate-crasher to the Beltway party that is the 2012 presidential election. His sneering, condescending comments are very off-putting and for me, renders his political opinions mostly useless..”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All the above are good things, needed things. Thank the good Lord for Sarah and the fact she has not been a Washington politician.
They are all corrupted now. Emphasis on co opting.
After this morning, I have vowed to ignore the Sunday shows. Karl Rove has just become obnoxious and George Will is right up there with Rather and Cronkite. I love Palin and I hope she runs. My husband thinks she can be more useful on the side lines and be a king maker, but the more the beltway idiots put her down, I say run run run. My family is gearing up for a rough ride with me through the next 18 months. They all care but I’m more vocal and emotional. I’m on the tail end of my life and I’ll be darned if I see this country go down before I die. Is it my imagination or wishful thinking that Rush might be inclined to endorse her campaign? He just seems so vocal about her. At least Palin has been thoroughly vetted. Christie peaked my interest, but not so much now. I hope Ryan stays where he is. Running for the higher office would stretch him too thin. He needs to continue the fiscal debate. Hammer it home. I hope Obama’s treatment of Rick Perry will come back to hurt him. Perry is mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. God bless all you Freepers and have a safe and patriotic Memorial Day.
Sorry, George...I don’t know that. In fact I believe this woman SHOULD be trusted with them...unlike the sorry bastard who currently occupies OUR White House.
yea!! everyone knows you shouldn’t give them to her...
cause she won’t hand them to the commies or muslims.
she’s also very unlikely to dismantle them all...
**note:
we only have 1500 warheads left, but that was a few months ago. could be under 1,000 by now. this is down from 23,000.
at about 4 minutes CNN report says State Representative Alice Palmer was at Bill Ayers house but she had NOTHING to do with setting up the meeting
CNN found Obama was a damned liar and then buried the story.
Obama lied!
****I can’t wait to hear Laura Ingraham’s show next week! She should blow THIS one outta the water! Will was just on her show!****
Dont expect that. She pretty much fawns over George Will. He was on her show this week. He referred to tea party candidates as "insurgents". Laura said nothing in response to that. (she was probably thumbing through her notes to think about what she would say next). Laura criticizes the elites but is OK with elites like Will. Dont get me wrong I like Laura since I listen to her radio show when I can but sometimes she mimicks the elites she supposedly does not like.
