The Pima County Sheriff's Department released a video Thursday that shows a SWAT team shooting into a suspect's house. He died after being shot 60 times.
Jose Guerena, 26, was shot and killed May 5 when Pima County authorities served a search warrant on his home.
The Sheriff's department says five SWAT team members fired more than 70 rounds in less than 10 seconds after the former Marine pointed an assault rifle at officers. His wife contends the family thought the officers were robbers. He was shot 60 times

No, the alarm was before that.
You might want to ask your mom to let you out of the basement, I think you may be suffering from cabin fever.
It was “a car alarm”.
20 second, 30 second, 40 second, that doesn't matter.
? Are you for real? Seriously?
I noted you danced around the question. Leemme ask you again.
Question:
Is it okay to conduct government paramilitary raids on someone with *NO* history of violence, no criminal record, because the local government suspects him of possibly being involved with drugs?
Agree....This was way over the top, uncalled for and totally out of control..
The scary part is there are those that are defending this unsafe, deadly chaos.
No way! I am against all of this. This poor guy only had a few speeding tickets on his record.
This war ondrugs needs to stop asap. Its total nonsense and a failure in most respects.
Berlin
I didn’t call them murderers you did. If the other members of the team thought the shooting was just a major screw or out right accident possibly-possibly they would cover, it’s happened before.
As I said I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt to a point. But releasing an edited tape was a major screw-up and will only add fuel to the fire they are possibly hiding something.
I want to see how the investigations turn out. A state agency investigating the shooting would help allay fears of a cover up by the department and prosecutor.
Didja happen to notice, your opinion and defense of this chaotic, unsafe violence and overkill, is inordinately outnumbered here probably 10-1?
It's a failure for most everyone except government who's turned the WOD into a lucrative industry, which has only grown government, not to mention organized gangs who've make a good living off selling illegal drugs.
Trillion dollar big pharma, smiles, winks and nods.
Why do you say it was altered?
The Pima County Sheriff's Department released video, audio, and more than 500 pages of incident reports and interview transcripts related to the May 5 shooting death of a former Marine.
The shooting took place while officers were serving a warrant in a drug conspiracy case at Jose Guerena's home, on Redwater Street.
The SWAT team arrived at the home just before 9:30 a.m., hoping that children would be out of the house and at school at that time.
The video of the whole incident times out at 1 minute and 17 seconds.
If the vid was edited & released by the Sheriff's Dept., then why did they edit it to make it look as damning to themselves as possible?
Tere is no way to spin this turd. The sheriffs department is in deep crap over this.
Unfortunately, the investigation will be based on the entry team statements, the SWAT team commander and those who organized this government commando style paramilitary raid and the alleged evidence that prompted it.
To add insult to injury, the the SWAT teams boss, the Sheriff of Pima County has a *history* of making wild, inaccurate accusatory comments involving other investigations.
Did you notice those involved are running for the tall grass and quickly lawyered up?
I noticed more than a few people in several threads over the past few days on this topic openly wish Death on me.
And I will tell you what else I have noticed.
I have never seen these people posting in the prayer threads I regularly participate in, praying for another FReepers physical well being and continued life.
Considering their boss, Pima County Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik, who has a history of tainting other investigations with wild baseless unfounded comments, it's no surprise.
And why would they put a camera on someone in the rear, who was not even part of the entry team, who appeared to jump back in the vehicle and hit the floor when the shooting started?
Where is the helmet camera from those at homeowners door?
At 9:34 a.m. (Guerena is at that time dead or dying), the SWAT officers began 30 minutes of identifying themselves (again) and telling anyone inside the house to come out, unarmed. A bit late, I think.

Unless the Pima Co. Sheriff’s Dept. has edited that vid to incriminate themselves, no way did Guerena have time to fully awake and clearly identify / comprehend the situation, and rationally respond.
I don't know anything about that.
Just guessing, but when ya support uncalled for, mismanaged, violent, unsafe, overkill government operations against citizens, you're not going to be real popular here or elsewhere.
lol
Because the version of the video last night was different. It showed the entry about five different times and only on the last iteration could you clearly hear the announcement.
The version on there now doesn't look to be edited or altered. However, it is incomplete compared to other information. This video is apparently from the helmet camera of one of the SWAT officers. We know the wife said she saw one of the officers from her bedroom window, and that the officer saw her. The helmet camera doesn't show that. There is also an audiotape released in which one reporter says officers tried for 30 minutes to get the occupants to come out.
My guess is regular officers initially served the warrant and only called SWAT at the end. But we should wait for all the facts available before jumping to conclusions.
How can that be possible when you notice the number of posts against me and you have been posting many times in the dame threads?
Actually all I have done is posted encouraging people not to point their guns at the police and wait for the investigations because even a cop is innocent until proved guilty.
But you try posting anything like that to people, many of whom are pro-drugs and cop haters of one ilk or another and see what you get.
Btw, many have come across as juvenile, including yourself. Hating cops also seems to have an age factor.
Look, if someone else is wishing you death as you say, don't blame me.
Btw, many have come across as juvenile, including yourself.
Could you please quote me on this thread, where I made a juvenile statement?
Thanks!
You've done a little more than that. For instance:
But you try posting anything like that to people, many of whom are pro-drugs and cop haters of one ilk or another and see what you get.
There's already bad blood between Dupnik and a lot of Freepers over his handling of the Giffords shooting back in January, and we tend to want to give Marine combat vets the benefit of the doubt. You're arguing that the Sheriff's Dept. should get the benefit of the doubt, and assume the Marine was either criminal or stupid, and accusing people of being pro-drug and cop-haters if they disagree with that.
What you got was predictable.
