CHICAGO – An Illinois diocese is ending adoptions and foster care services over objections to a new state law that would require it to allow gay or unmarried couples to adopt or foster children.

Rockford Diocese officials say doing so would violate teachings of the Catholic faith.

Bravo to them; they can’t be a part of that evil.

These scenarios make it all the more unlikely that anyone who really cares for a child would ever put them up for adoption. The idea of someone else doing a better job is something from the past. You know there will be a quota system to ensure that 51% of children are placed with deviants...

Russia does not allow adoptions by queers or lesbians.

Recently, Russia forbid adoptions by singles, too.

Only married couples can apply.

If they were gay, they wouldn't be homosexuals.

Bravo to the diocese for upholding their faith. It's disgusting what theses perverts are trying to do to harmless and thoughtful organizations. If they're so dedicated to the idea of adoptions, why don't they establish their own Gay Men and Women Adoption Agency, and have people come to them. Leave the morally unchallenged alone.

Yup. Better burn down the structure if it was going to be part of immorality.

Could they have ‘in-house’ adoptions and foster care within the Catholic Church?

It’s time to start suing the states.

They are encroaching into religious activities. Religious denominations have been involved with adoptions and orphanages far, far longer than secular society has.

finally sue them for interfering with the practice of their religious faith. I mean if states are forced to offer footwashing stations for muzzie cab drivers they ought to be forced to allow religious adoption agencies to be able to adopt to whoever they determine they morally are able to.

Our lib parish had one time, the mother of a homo to speak during the sermon. Basically, it was a LECTURE that we, the parishioners should be accommodating to her son’s degenerate lifestyle and even in our blue city, a good number of parishioners had enough and just walked out.

I love a happy ending. Would have been even better if some Catholics had gently escorted her out the door.

Too bad your PASTOR didn't lecture to her from God's Holy Word (the Bible) and tell her to kneel down and pray for her son.

If he was silent during and after that rant, then pray for your pastor.

I'd change my church if I were you. Obviously, to let her speak shows that it is not Bible based.

It’s high time the American Catholic Church stopped pretending that it can partner with the US government to do anything; all funds come with strings attached, so they should just do their own thing and let Caesar do his.

The “Catholic left” would love nothing more than having the Church function as an agency of the secular state; they lost their souls a long time ago.

It’s within walking distance, that’s why I’m there...

And just last week, the priest used the sermon to LECTURE us again, that the church has a $50,000 deficit. Outside the hall, there is a breakdown of the ‘expenses’ of the church and there is one line that stated..

‘PLANT INSURANCE’..$50,000

Then of course, our smart parishioners asked what PLANT INSURANCE was, and you guessed it. (Even they were in facepalm mode). And I don;t even have time to tell you about their pro-obama sermons which had no connection to the parables...”our president is like Job”...oh God, the humanity.

The wisdom on this issue in Russia astounds me....but then they are desperate for children and probably want the best human design that ever existed for children—the natural family—to be in place to assure the best outcomes for a functional, emotionally stable child who is able to relate to both sexes without pathologies, caused by a void in their life and lack of modeling.

Dalrymple’s books point out to the destruction of the English caused by the breakup of the family and the welfare system that rewards this dysfunction. It is destroying all chances for a healthy future relationship for the children who end up being addicts and dysfunctional at every level—and they are particularly abusive and inhumane to any children they unfortunately produce who are lucky to live.

Because in their narcissistic little worlds it is all about them and their needs—it is never what is best for the child. They could care less.

What they need is government to force people to validate their lifestyle so they don’t feel so filthy and dirty and unnatural. They think government fascism will fill the void in their twisted sick souls, caused by emotional/physical abuse in their young life, and instead of dealing with their pathology, they want to drag everyone else down. It is really evil and sick.

You're going to a soap box, not a church. If that were any kind of church your pastor would condemn Obambi for wanting to kill unborn and newly born children because their 'mother' don't want them. He knows damn well that Jesus would never condone the premeditated murder of 3,300 human babies every day.

Obama is a monster, and if you pastor can't see that, then I'd tell him off and go somewhere else.

Sounds like your "walking distance" is the distance to hell if you keep going there. I'll pray for you.

This happened in Massachusetts as well. They passed the law, and the Catholic Church had to stop adoptions.

The Libertarians who like to post here should remember this when they so ardently champion the “civil unions” compromise as preserving marriage. It’s every bit as deadly and oppressive as fake marriage.

And then the state started running radio ads advertising adoption because women who want their babies to have a mother and father decided it was better to keep the child than turn it over for social experiments.

And I think this is a foretelling of what may happen to churchs re “gay” marriage. If the state can stop a church from doing adoptions to traditional married couples, because the church believes that this is the best environment for the child vs. a homosexual couple, then how long will it take to stop churches from doing traditional marriage cermonies only. Isn’t it the same principal?
