GOP, get off your heels and attack Obamacare
The New York Daily News ^ | May 26, 2011 | Andrea Tantaros

A much worse case of social engineering is Obamacare, which is already the law of the land and deserves all of the ire Republicans can muster. For example, Washington Democrats have cut $500 billion by stopping reimbursements to doctors and hospitals through Medicare Advantage. And what happens when you cut payments? Doctors stop treating Medicare patients.

Another part of their "reform" plan includes the Independent Payment Advisory Board, a 15-person rationing panel of unelected bureaucrats tasked with limiting costs per patient. That, again, will happen by cutting services and limiting treatments. Even many Democrats are opposed to this, as it will likely lead to rationing. So why aren't Republicans screaming about it from the rooftops?

The fatal flaw in the idea, IMHO, is if the Dems AGREE to a formal bill from the Repubs to strip away all the waivers, then it sets Obamacare in stone.

It effectively concedes that the Repubs accept Obamcare, just not the waivers part.

Kill the acts of abomination with all due hast and at any cost short of greater goverment.

Also point out to people that if they prefer the judgement of the congressional majority to their own individual judgement in supporting theses big goverment programs.

Then they have no grounds to stand upon in rejecting that same judgement now in modifying theses programs.

I actually thought this would be repealed by now or at least defunded.

What was your plan to pass repeal in the Senate, and then get Obama to sign the repeal?

If we reelect any of these Establishment legislators then we will only end up suffering for our ignorance. Bring in new people who are not morally, mentally and financially intertwined with those progressive communists across the aisle.

Remember when GOP, Government of the People actually was a Government of the People? I do but apparently they’ve for gotten what GOP once stood for. Deep in their hearts they have given up on national sovereignty and are looking forward to this New World Order that their progressive buddies across the aisle have been preaching for 50 years.

Get them out and bring in fresh faces like Cain, West and Palin who truly believe in America.

How about at least defunded - is that doable for you?

Defunding requires legislation - passed by the House and the Senate, signed by the President.

No, it was never doable.

Well, that has been the argument on FR for months - the House controls the money so if nothing else they can shut off the funds.

That may have to be done each year, but definitely sounds doable until we can get rid of the d*mn thing entirely. Agencies and departments get their money each year because that’s what all the shouting is about. NPR, Planned Parenthood for example.
