A much worse case of social engineering is Obamacare, which is already the law of the land and deserves all of the ire Republicans can muster. For example, Washington Democrats have cut $500 billion by stopping reimbursements to doctors and hospitals through Medicare Advantage. And what happens when you cut payments? Doctors stop treating Medicare patients.
Another part of their "reform" plan includes the Independent Payment Advisory Board, a 15-person rationing panel of unelected bureaucrats tasked with limiting costs per patient. That, again, will happen by cutting services and limiting treatments. Even many Democrats are opposed to this, as it will likely lead to rationing. So why aren't Republicans screaming about it from the rooftops?

Neither can happen until the 2012 elections are over.
We need 2/3s of the government to repeal Obamacare. That’s how it works in America.
That said, the GOP are lame. They’ve got a lot to hit Obama on and they won’t use it! Why?
Namely, The Illuminati is real. They own BOTH Parties, and BOTH parties do their bidding.
It's why Rush is absolutely right that Sarah Palin scares the crap out of BOTH Parties.
There's a great scene in "Rocky I" -- Apollo Creed stumbles back to his corner with busted ribs. His manager tells him "Stop foolin around with this chump. He don't know this is just a SHOW... He thinks it's a damn FIGHT!!"
Sarah Palin doesn't regard Washington DC as a puppet show for the masses... she thinks it's a damn FIGHT!
Outstanding suggestion and give that man a medal and a promotion.
I hope it is proposed right after the Memorial Day weekend.
That’s a delicious vote and a total win-win for us.
That’s thinking.
Wrong and stop talking like that.
This is going to be a long, drawn out fight and we don’t need easy-Toms running at the first sign of trouble. We didn’t get here just yesterday.
This process started over a century ago back when Teddy was President. It’ll take a sustained effort over a generation with GOP control of Congress or the Presidency (2/3s for any real action).
It’s winnable, but the time is nigh.
When you start with bad goals you end up with bad legislation. These programs should not be saved; they should be ended. In a free society, the federal government has no business controlling the healthcare and retirement of its citizens.
This is why the Paul Ryan “plan” was so STUPID. The GOP has NO power to enact it, and it served only to give desperate Democrats a gift issue to beat Republicans over the head with in 2012 - with our strongest voting bloc (Sentiors) to boot! GOP needs to move on from this debacle and back on the attack.
how many GOP donors (and democrat donors) WANT obamacare in order to put healthcare costs of employees upon the middle and lower classes? The GOP sings only the songs of their donors, they don’t care one iota about the voters or the nation.
commericals run only in wash dc. It is for the staffers.
MSNBC is running creepy commie style ads supporting far left lunacy.
Less emphasis than I would like to see on the point that John Boehner needs to catch serious heat for trying to rotate the axis of challenge to Obozo from something that is specific and very needful, viz.: killing off Obamacare, to generalized vaporings about "budget reductions" w/ emphasis (if any) on Medicare reductions -- when in fact trashing Medicare is one of the problems of Obozo's SnareCare.
Unlike Pelousey Boner is unwilling to use the power we gave him in November. Epic Fail.
NO!!
What needs to be done is, Obamacare needs to be defunded, delegitimized, deconstructed, disarticulated like a baked chicken, and sent to the dogs.
Otherwise the Dems have a hook in seniors for the next 100 years in addition to Medicare and Social Security.
Mr. Bush was right to try to privatize SS, but right now we need to kill off Obamacare before it becomes organized and the goodies start to flow to Obama's client whiners and start embroiling the community at large and destroying what's left of fee-for-service medicine, which is the free market.
The question in my mind is, who is Boehner playing for?
I saw a magazine article that said the GOP had done a deal with the Dems even before the 2008 election, to let the Dems reorganize medical care.
Is Boehner playing to frustrate us? I think he is.
Remember when I said “I see a bunch of Republicans quietly slinking around trying to convince the voters that they are doing something when in fact nothing is being accomplished.”
Shall we all stand up and make a toast to former White House lawyer, David B. Rivkin, Jr.

Your frustration is due to the reelection of too many Republican legislators. We need term limits to operate the self cleaning system.
Remember back when George, the compassionate socialist was elected and we had control of both houses? What was the result? Did we repeal a single Bill from the Clinton era? No, but we sure made close friends with the Saudi's instead of working towards drilling our own oil and becoming independent from $5 a gallon prices. Did we secure the borders? No, instead U.S. Hispanic population up 43 percent (from 2000-2010). What was George's departing gift to all the FReepers who supported him? He almost doubled the number of Federal workers we will have to support for sixty years.
Excuse me if I am not as wild eyed as you are about having GOP control of Congress and the Presidency. I would much prefer to bring in ALL new people who haven't learned how to play the system to steal our pride and assets.
Isnt this what needs to happen to begin with??
Attack the entire left on all issues! Even better.
