This guys greatest asset is keeping TX strong in this disaster of an economy. All Perry did was (wisely) kept his hands off a well-oiled machine that was already working just fine.
The economy is the one area that I lean toward giving him some credit for. He could have very easily killed the goose that laid the golden egg, but somehow he did whatever a governor has to do, to keep it laying.

Windflier, Perry has been Governor for 10 years. He was Lt. Governor before that. He is a major factor in building that “well oiled machine”.
