Hey, nice smart ass Illinois response but I live here. I loved Bush but his eastern elitist roots tripped him up in the end. Bush may not have personally emulated Perry himself but the mannerisms of Perry are genuine to the core of who he is as a Texan. Bush had to "out Texan" Ann Richards. Perry doesn't have to "out Texan" anyone because that is who he is.

By the way Billyboy, once again,I live here and voted for Bush twice and Perry every time he ran. You don't have to give me the breakdown, cause once again I live here and voted in all those elections you are informing me of.

Indeed, you live there so you're pushing for Texas' "favorite son". That seems to be why his appeal is rather limited. Of all the conservatives on the "Draft Perry" bandwagon who insist he's "more electable" in swing states, about 90% of them live in Texas instead of the swing states he needs to win nationally.

But then when you narrow it down to just Texas freepers and ask what they think of Perry, about 50% think he'd be a great GOP nominee and the other 50% say he'd be terrible and they're adamently AGAINST running him (which is about on par for how well he does he in Texas GOP primaries).

I don't think it bodes well that you can't find any freepers in states Perry needs to win that see him as Presidential material, and in his OWN state, half the conservatives don't want him.

Don’t welcome any damn Yankee opinions on your apparent hero eh?

Well then poll your fellow Texas freepers. Tons of them have called him RINO or worse.
