"In a press conference Tuesday, the Texas governor notably declined to "rule out" a White House bid, amid calls from Rush Limbaugh and others that he should enter the 2012 race."

Texas Gov. Rick Perry Blasts Obama on Border Security: “This Guy’s a Stand-Up Comic”; “There are People’s Lives in Jeopardy” = Audio 5/11/11
Here is audio of Texas Gov. Rick Perry on the Laura Ingraham Radio Show, where he blasted President Obama for his ridiculous comments on Border Security in El Paso the other day. Obama proclaimed the border to be secure, even saying the Border Fence is “essentially completed.”
Perry reacted by saying about Obama:
“This is a President who is more interested in trying out for Saturday Night Live it seems like. . . . . the guy’s a stand-up comic, and that was what he was playing to. The fact of the matter is, Americans don’t want a stand-up comic for the President of the United States. . . . Anyone who knows what’s happening on the border of Texas and Mexico - or for that matter the southern border of the United States with Mexico - realizes this is not comedy, there are people’s lives in jeopardy every day.”
Perry had a stern warning of what will happen if President Obama continues to not take Border Security seriously: “You’re going to see United States citizens killed if this administration does not take border security seriously. They don’t.”
He’s been Ok the last couple of years. How are Pawlenty or Willard on immigration?
So was George W. Bush after September 11th. You shouldn't believe everything politicians say. Has Perry done anything to secure the borders in Texas?
Perry has done those those things in a severe recession. Pawlenty got out before the impact of the 2008 financial crisis hit.
“So again, what exactly does Perry bring to the field that the existing candidates DON’T have?”
Solid record of fiscal conservatism and job creation that can help him defeat Obama.
Theres no way youre gonna hear Rick Perry supporting amnesty in any way, shape, manner, or form. Hes solid on that, plus pro-life. Rick Perry stands in opposition to inside the Beltway Washington elites, I dont care what party they are.

Perry thinks it’s just fine to kill some of the babies. In other words, he’s pro-abortion with exceptions.
And Perry likes to kick dirt in Obama's eye. :)
From your link:
“Securing the border should be a top priority, Perry said, noting that he has a standing request for 1,000 National Guard troops to support civilian law enforcement efforts to keep the border secure.
“Our focus must continue to be on the criminal elements involved with conducting criminal acts against Texans and their property. I will continue to work with the legislative leadership to develop strategies that are appropriate for Texas,” Perry said. “Until the federal government brings the necessary resources to bear, we will continue to commit state funding and resources for additional border security efforts in order to protect our communities and legitimate cross-border trade and travel, while enforcing the laws already on the books.”
“We must do a better job of stopping those who seek to come into our country illegally. I support strict border enforcement programs such as Operation Hold the Line, which concentrate border patrol officers and resources at known border-crossing points. I believe it is far more compassionate to turn away people at the border.”
— George W. Bush A Charge to Keep, p.237. Dec 9, 1999
“I dont believe we ought to have amnesty. I dont think we ought to reward illegal behavior. There are plenty of people standing in line to become a citizen. And we ought not to crowd these people ahead of them in line. If they want to become a citizen, they can stand in line, too. Kerry supported amnesty for illegal aliens.”
— George W. Bush, 3rd Presidential debate, in Tempe AZ Oct 13, 2004
“Keeping America competitive requires an immigration system that upholds our laws, reflects our values and serves the interests of our economy. Our nation needs orderly and secure borders. To meet this goal, we must have stronger immigration enforcement and border protection. “
— George W. Bush, 2006 State of the Union Address Jan 31, 2006
“America needs to secure our borders—and with your help, my administration is taking steps to do so. Were increasing worksite enforcement, deploying fences and advanced technologies to stop illegal crossings.”
— George W. Bush, 2008 State of the Union address to Congress Jan 28, 2008
According to Rick Perry supporter logic, Bush made it clear he supports securing the border and is against amnesty. Since he said it, there’s nothing to worry about.
I missed it. When did Rush say he wanted Perry to jump in? Just wondering.
TRUMP-PERRY 2012
The good hair ticket that can beat Bammy Boy to a pulp
Rick PerryIn 1984, Perry was elected to the Texas House of Representatives as a Democrat from a district (64) that included his home county of Haskell...
Perry supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic presidential primaries and was chairman of the Gore campaign in Texas.
I can’t stand perry, and I’m an Aggie.
In fact, I wouldn’t put it past the two of them to be discussing whether or not one of them should run and if so which one.

AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perrys emergency items are coasting through in the final days of the session. As the end approaches Monday, hes had a 60 percent success, so far. Three down, two to go.
Sonogram bill
Gov. Rick Perry held a formal signing ceremony Tuesday, though he officially signed the bill last week. This law would require doctors to conduct a sonogram before performing an abortion. Tuesdays gesture is meant to applaud supporters of the legislation.
Under the law, the doctor would also have to make the image of the fetus and the fetal heartbeat available to the woman and to verbally describe in detail what is seen on the sonogram. It exempts emergency cases and those involving incest or fatal abnormalities.
Eminent domain
Perry signed this bill in a special ceremony on Monday. The law is meant to protect property owners from unnecessary government seizures of their land.
Voter ID
This bill is awaiting Perry’s signature. It requires voters to present a photo ID at the polls before casting their ballot.
Sanctuary cities
The bill to allow police to question the immigration status of people they detained was gutted then revived by a Senate committee last week. The next step is to take it to the full Senate for a vote.
The 12 Democratic members of the Senate seem to have a united front against the bill though, which could essentially stop it from coming before the body. However, as the two-thirds rule requires at least 21 votes of the 31 members to bring up a bill, Republicans could suspend that requirement to push the bill onto the floor for a vote.

Hi, not being from TX or following Perry that closely, can you briefly bring me and any others up to speed on the TSA issue? I thot TX legislature was fighting TSA with an anti-groping bill. Was Perry against this?
He’s got good hair, too.>>>>>>
So does The Donald -— TRUMP-PERRY in 2012
Pretty pathetic record when you consider that the Republicans have a veto-proof majority and, supposedly, the governorship.
