I wonder how many of these people who can’t come up with $2,000 have a large flat screen at home? A cell phone in their pocket? Enjoy their $6.00 Starbucks every day? Play the lottery? Have plenty of cold beer in the fridge?
And on and on....
Look. We make choices in life. Some people make the choice to live broke.
Are they stupid? After all, THEY have Uncle Obama as their sugar daddy.
Life is good.
I work with several people that are overdrawn every day before payday, don’t have taxes taken out of their checks, withdraw money from 401K; yet they make at least 2 trips to starbucks everyday, eat lunch out everyday, and on payday rush out at lunch to purchase something they don’t need.
Of all those things you mentioned, I only have the cell phone, and yes, I'm one of those who couldn't come up with the $2K in 30 days.
Me and mine aren't getting a dime of help from anyone.
No flat screen and I hate Starbucks, but I've got a cell phone, because I don't have a landline and I've got about a 6 pack in the fridge........which is about ready to croak and we've been putting something aside to replace it --- AFTER we replace the car.
Look. We make choices in life. Some people make the choice to live broke.
We didn't make the choice to live broke, but it happened. We're working to turn things around, but contrary to what seems to be popular belief around here, not everyone who falls on hard times is there by choice.
Stereotype comments such as this are insulting to those who really are struggling in this economy. And I know I'm not the only FReeper who was hit hard in the past few years.
