While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
AIPAC’s live box feed is working or hasn’t started as promised!
Thank you for the link!!! I may take a nap so I can tune in. I see on Cspan2, they’re now saying 9:30 EDT.
ISN’T working.... I promise to preview all future posts on this thread.
I’m sorry I’m not quite clear about what you mean April
If you’re around to get this ping in time, and have any interest, CSPAN-2 will be doing a LIVE broadcast of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech at AIPAC at 6:30PM our time.
Is there an alternative feed? I’m on dial up here so stream does not work but maybe there is another outlet.
BTTT
HARRY REID! why the change in schedule, I wonder?
to all..........TOM MARR is fillin in for MARK LEVIN and he mentioned us freepers and is flat out awesome tonight
come on over and tho down on the comments
lol
Im guessing because Harry would be too plastered to speak at that late hour
ditto
O’Dumbo thought he could intimidate this guy, RIGHT! w/sarc
>>>It is pretty well reasonable to conclude that American Jews need some serious relationship counseling.
They can save the money on counseling... they need to stop putting their liberal politics above all else in their lives.
I wonder if Harry will still have the sling on his arm and the huge black eye. I suppose he could cover up the eye thing with stage makeup, and go a few minutes without the sling.
Anyone hear if he explained the injuries? (i figure “i was hit by a door” was already used this week, so he needs to use something like “I stumbled into cabinet/table” or something similar.)
Harry, keep in mind these people love you, very much. Their votes are certain, so you can be frank with the AIPAC crowd.
No need to worry about Pres. Hopey Changerton’s pro-Pali speeches this week, at the same venue and eslewhere, you know, the throw-Israel-under-the-bus plan. The Jewish Dems are still totally on-board. You are among friends.
I’d guess Harry Reid because he’s the Senate Majority Leader, and Rep. Boehner because he’s the House Speaker. I don’t know why the schedule changed...maybe the original time was in error. I hope it’s nothing more than that.
I hope they told the liberal dem Jews NOT to boo...
There is a comparison photo going around which includes this one and one with the marxist in his youth; complete with “fro”, smoking a cigarette and a smirk on that hideous face. The contrast is stark.
I will say though, even with how we feel and what we believe, the marxist is completely disregarding the exchange that took place between he and Netanyahu on Friday.
Obama is making speeches that still call for Israel to go back to the ‘67 borders. And he’s speaking to the world which by and large is anti-semitic.
Wow, Bibi to speak, my day is made.....
I’ve got CSPAN2 tuned in now and the crawl is saying Netanyahu comes on at 9:30 ET.(I’m watching from the Philly suburbs) Maybe the website is on Mountain time..
