While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
DITTO!
BOTH MUTED!
Exactly...Now Reid is going on and on about Entebbe..
GOOD GOD, SAVE US!
I’m going back on the balcony outside to do more deep breathing!!
Oh, Lord, he is invoking Yoni!!! OMG!!! What chutzpah
NOOOOOOO..
now he is talking about the bin Laden hit!
Yes, I am going crazy.
Harry also? Not just Daniels?
Hi TN...can hardly stand listening to Reid carry on...he is so deceptive!
Well...you are right, but my point is that C-SPAN2 posted its schedule that they would carry Netanyahu live at 9pm. I checked this morning.
I don’t know if any Cable news channels were planning on carrying his speech.
Anyway one looks at it, though, I can’t see how 45 minutes of a roll call of audience “dignitaries” is worth ANYONE’s time...not even the attendees whose names were mentioned.
I actually thought I might be hearing about Israel and Israel/American relations?
Now Reid...more than I can stomach. Sounds like BHO’s speechwriter wrote Reid’s speech as well.
Make no mistake...the BHO and DNC stand 1000 percent behind Israel.
They and he have got to be kidding. I can NOT listen to this idiot, just tell me when Bibi is on please.
I should have lost 20 lbs if I could just do what I feel like and THROW UP.
what happened to reid’s face? he’s looking like a warty witch
It looks like Dingy Harry is taking lessons from Obama’s teleprompter coach.
(Back and forth. Back and forth.)
He is so full of it!
Please God, tell me this audience isn’t falling for Dingy’s lies.
Reid is talking all about Obama taking out Ben-Laden....I thought this was featuring BiBi not Obama...he’s using this as election brownie points for Obama...golly I disdain him as much as I do Ob.
G-d is gonna get these bastiches.
Aaah, you’re right. It was Daniels that got the stitches. Dingy just got a black eye. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal he fell while jogging in Washington...or so he says.
I really hope Bibi wakes them up.
I’m just sick about this shameful appearance by Reid. AIPAC should be ashamed. He doesn’t merit applause and I am NOT listening.
They LOVE HIM!!!
LOLOLOL. Fell while jogging? Sure thing! Hahahahaha.
aND A CAMPAIGN SPEECH !...hOW i HATE THIS bA...TARD.
