major tornado hit south side,,hospital damage..home destroyed

No, I spoke to my niece for about 10 seconds before the line went dead. Don’t know about my MIL.
With all due respect, gone is gone, and dead is dead. If you're hit, it is bad, period. And I say that as someone that spent all day Friday cleaning up a yard on Sand Mountain in Alabama. The next door neighbors to my friends were killed, their house totally destroyed. Nothing but cinder blocks where it once stood.
Not taking away from 'Bama's tragedy - it's just that this is also shaping up to be a tragedy.

Photo of hospital...you can see the curtains and such hanging out the windows...AWFUL! I cannot imagine being in a hospital... to have it hit with that force!

What about your brother or brother in law - did he make it? Have you heard anything? Is he having trouble getting through?
Any tornado damage is a tragedy ... have been watching TWC for the last few min. Fox News is just chugging along with Huck and friends! Krap! This is major major tragic News and fox is dead set on their scheduled programing - shame!

We talked to him about 30 minutes ago. He’s taking the back roads trying to get to Joplin to check on our family. Did you suffer any damage? I’m hearing some horrible reports on the news.

Updated 8:45 PM CST: KOAM photographer Crystal Albright was at 15th and Range Line. She says the Burger King is gone. King’s Palace was catching on fire at the time.
A tractor trailer was turned over near the 15th Street Walmart. Plaza apartments and storage facilities behind the Walmart at 15th street also received damage.
Damage going east is “worse and worse”. Says he was unable to get to Range Line from that direction.
At the 15th and Rangeline Walmart ambulances lined the street as emergency rescue officials across the Four-States have responded to rescue hundreds of residents trapped inside the building.
