The Harper government is refusing to join the United States in calling for a return to 1967 borders as a starting point for Mideast peace, a position that has drawn sharp criticism from Canadas staunch ally Israel.
At a briefing ahead of the upcoming G8 summit in France, federal officials said the basis for the negotiations must be mutually agreed upon.

Too bad. This is going to be a campaign issue and it needs to be asked where the media was in this. Let the campaign begin. This is an issue Obama gave his opponents to show how he is not to be trusted.
So true. The delusion is strong.
BTW, don’t fall for the “either/or” folks who will come along to tell you that you’ve given up. Just because we know how blind the American electorate is, doesn’t mean we don’t continue to stand for (and work for) what is right.
Wish I could do what so many here do - write off Obama as ignorant and stupid. If only it were that easy. The truth is - he’s intentional & continues to work his agenda.
Canada continues to grow even more pleasantly interesting!
I agree with you. He is ignorant of how we might do things, but he is very good at implementing what he wants in his far left marxist view of the world. He is determined, dangerous and successful so far.
He must go ASAP or even sooner.
Not only that, but English signs on private businesses were outlawed in Quebec. The pandering that has gone on to one province is an outrage. The rest of Canada is sick of them.
my advice to Israel: simply ignore Obama. He’s an @ss who lives in his own fantasy land. He’s also a weakling, so ignoring him won’t have many consequences. Finally, Obama won’t be around that long either.
Badly written first sentence, although I think I know what they were trying to say. I don’t think Israel was upset at Canada’s position, rather the U.S.
Outstanding.
This turkey laid an egg.
Yes. Thank you Canada.
Thanks G-d for the Canadians.
Jihadi sympathizing US president abandons Israel, Canada stands strong for civilization...
Not a re election friendly headline.
Thank you Canada...and thanks for Trailer Park Boys...
Prime Minister Stephen Harper may not be the perfect conservative, but I would trade for him in a heartbeat.
At least one countries’ leader has guts and principals. Can we replay the War of 1812 and move our capital to the banks of the Rideau Canal?
Excellent Harper !
Canada paid dearly for that mistake!
