Hello fellow Freepers,
This is a message from the family of GitmoSailor, or Gus, as we knew him.
Gus passed away on Tuesday. He left us in poor health and is no longer suffering. Thanks to all of you who made his last days bearable. He thoroughly enjoyed his time on-line, especially to express his political views and points. Thank you again for giving him a forum to view and respond to world politics and current affairs. Thank you for providing him with a much needed past time. To any wishing to express condolences we will check this board for the next few months until we are ready to close his account. Thank you, The family of GitmoSailor, A.K.A. J.R., A.K.A. Gus
Prayers for Gus and for his entire family. May you find comfort in each other and in the Lord.
Bravo Zulu, sailor. Thanks for a job well done.

Thanks so much for for the information. As you can see, we all share a deep respect for our fellow members.
Rest easy, Sailor. My condolences to family and friends.
I enjoyed the posts from Gus on the Freepathon threads. An always upbeat attitude and devout patriot is how I will remember him. He will be missed. Prayers up for Gus and his family.

I’m glad his family in their pain, thought to let his fellow Freepers/Sailors know of his passing. Godspeed.

Hand Salute..............two.
Thank you for serving our great country, GitmoSailor.
Thanks very much, ((((smoothsailing)))).
Wonderful memories.
I know. I remember. He loved to tell you there was isn’t snow in Phoenix.
I am stunned, absolutely stunned. I had no idea he was ill. He was very involved in the last quarter FReepathon and IIRC introduced his son(?) to the thread.
I’m so so sorry. Prayers up for the family.
Please accept our condolences on the passing of your loved one.
GitmoSailor will be missed here at FR.
Gitmo Sailor made sure that several of his family members belong to the $1 A Day Club. He was a very proud member of Free Republic and one of our most generous FReepers. He loved making certain that his beloved Arizona ranked in the top three donor states.
Gitmo Sailor was an American Patriot in every sense of the word. Navy Veteran who served our Country and a Conservative, of course. We will miss him forever, but we have wonderul memories to warm our hearts! He belongs on our FReeper wall!
He’s in the arms of our Lord now. God bless Gus, our Gitmo Sailor.
