U.S. to Partner with Taliban...Instead of Killing Them

As reported by the London Telegraph, new U.S. special envoy Marc Grossman, "Mr. Appeasement," ...err, "Mr Reconciliation," is busy completing the diplomatic side of our miserably failed COIN strategy which will deliver Afghanistan to the Taliban.
A Western official in Kabul confirmed the United States was in direct contact with the Taliban following a sea change in American policy this year. Marc Grossman, the replacement for special envoy Richard Holbrooke, has been nicknamed "Mr. Reconciliation" and told to focus efforts on trying to facilitate a political deal which would ease a US exit. "Those are no longer preconditions, they are being seen as negotiated outcomes," said the Western official. In February, Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State, said the US would no longer insist on preconditions such as the need for the Taliban to renounce al-Qaeda and accept the Afghan constitution. Such declarations could be made after a deal had been reached. The pursuit of "reconciliation" in Afghanistan will be high on the agenda in talks between Mr. Obama and Mr. Cameron in London next week.

Additionally, the Karzai regime is so corrupt, incompetent, and without widespread popular support the country will splinter again along tribal lines once we pull out. Afghanistan is a cultural, political, and religious basket case and always was. We blew our opportunity to succeed there long ago. Now we are just repeatedly playing the somber tune of "Bleed, Bleed, Bleed" while our finest are maimed and die in that hopeless 3rd World hell hole peopled either either by Muslim fanatics or those who simply want to be left alone to their tribal ways.
We might as well partner up with the bad guys to make the best deal possible, get out, and stop expending our military and resources. We need to save them for wars looming in more strategic places including on this side of the ocean.
Bring the troops home to rest and refit and put them on our own border. We will very soon need them here.
I don’t exactly call Obama$$’s ROE for our troops carrying weapons and NOT being able to chamber rounds...SAFETY or NOBLE!!! That’s why our troop deaths are being quadrupled!! I call that sending our troops into suicidal ambushes....
that’s how much he cares about our sons and daughter as freedom fighters!!

Very well put!! My sentiments perxactly!!! The Usurper in the WH and his ilk have dealt treasonously all through the Middle East with their agenda, and no one with any clout, so far has done one thing to try and thart it!!
What I wondered quite often is, who ever changed the definition of treason?
It seems to me that must surely be a liberal thingy also....they tend to seek to nullify anything that would disagree with any agenda they might have. Take for instance our ‘The Constitution” that our forefathers set forth? Obama$$ and his evil ilk are doing everything they can to circumvent, ignor, and change it in-order-to suit their EVIL agenda.... to bring this once mighty nation to it’s knees and destoy it from within!!

This morning I was driving to work, and a Ford Expedition cut in front of me. I swung out and passed alongside and saw that it had about 8 people inside - all with close shaved heads, full beards in the fashion that I’ve seen the Mooj wearing, and the look they gave me as I passed them said it all.
It said “We’re HERE and f*** you.”
Is that a little “racial profiling?” - sure it is. When it comes to my and my family’s physical safety, you’re damn right I’ll profile. There is precedent after all. It wasn’t 80 year old Irish Catholic grannies that drove aircraft into our buildings and killed 3000 Americans.
