Conservative Public School Teacher Calls Florida Exam ‘Soviet-Style Propaganda’
Big Government ^ | 5/18/11 | Kyle Olson

There are many conservative teachers sounding the alarm about the hijacking of their profession and the radicalization of school curriculums by left-wing union leaders. Exhibit A: Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis saying they’re not teachers but “education workers.”Dean Kalahar is a Sarasota, Florida high school economics teacher. On his blog, he says his guiding principles include private property rights, free market entrepreneurial capitalism and the U.S. Constitution.Kalahar recently brought attention to the new Florida high school senior exit exam, which he says will “indoctrinate children into a progressive and revisionist model critical of America.”

Not all public school teachers are liberals.

Would you send the child out to the forest to gather food, because it isn't all poisonous, and not all the animals are carnivores? Why would you send him to public school to learn what he needs to learn?

Parents who use public education, to the extent that they give it any thought at all, are minimizing the risk because the benefit is attractive: all-day "free" babysitting. They're complacent about their children's minds; and they're complicit in the creeping socialism of our nation.

indeed.
They have been infiltrating the churches for decades, the left and the homosexuals have got such a foothold now that they are nearly lost.

They now have focused on the military, get rid of don’t ask , next step is 5year olds, oh wait they are doing that too.

If these parents don’[t wake th ehell up and find out what their kids are being told then they should not have had kids in the first place as obviously they’re too lazy.

There is no excuse of any parent saying that their child has turned into a liberal or a Dem voter unless that parent did not raise their child with the right message

I’ver sent that out to many poeple, had my kid send it to the local school etc.
I would not have beleived it unless I had not read that manifesto.

It is high time the people woke up and if any Dem still wins in an election like htey might do in Jcksonville then we seriously have many deluded fools.
Saying that word is that JAX was targeted off obama as he needs that city for next year and with him putting his own man in the mayor position gives him a big step to doing more fraud for the big election.
Also they’re saying that there is fraud from the left right now in that election too

not all teachers are liberals. I know many many teachers who are conservative and teach as they should plus many do not agree with tenure nor are they in a union.

I guess it depends on where you live and who you know is how you might think teachers are liberals.

here they are not

“Most of the liberals on Free Republic who came out of the woodwork -following in the wake of the far left gains in our culture- have been kicked off of Free Republic.”

Good riddance to them. They were rude and profane which made them easy to spot.

Some folks here are in denial, I gather. My contempt for people who shamelessly partake of public education is clear and there’s no point in antagonizing anyone individually.

I’d just be repeating myself, to respond further. See earlier posts.

what are you on about, ? Many teachers are not liberals but many I know here are conservative FACT Now you might not like that or agree with that because of maybe who you know or where you live. Here many many teachers are conservative, they do teach as they should , they are not in a union, they do not believe in tenure Yes it flies in the face for some that fact but it is fact

They need to be driven out of America. I say we give them some visual aides like Ayers, Stern, Trumka and Soros hanging from the public gallows. Maybe that will drive home the point that communism has no place in America.

So you hate all teachers and all people who send their children to public schools? You can disagree with them, but contempt is wrong. There are more conservative christians than you will ever know that teach in the public schools and send their children to public schools. Although, seeing who you pinged, I doubt you have any desire of seeing another viewpoint.

As I said earlier, most people only know about the liberal loudmouths. I’m only ten years removed from K-12 public schools and both my parents were public school teachers. I think I have more credibility on this topic than most people. And guess what, with all that public school exposure, I’m still a conservative. I even came out of a liberal state university as a conservative. Don’t get me wrong, in many instances, the public schools are a big part of the problem. However, I place greater blame on the media and ignorant parents.

Nope, not all of them.
Those that teach from the bible and not from the “Book of Rob Bell” will resist communist compromise,

but the remnant will be most highly persecuted by those compromised churches (Rev 17:3-4) than by anyone else.

exactly
my kids are conservative and stand up fro their stances, my oldest has a great teacher and has been all year teaching them the constitution etc.

It seems those who say that dept is all liberals are the ones who have no kids in there and know very little if not any teachers

You pay for food stamps whether you use them or not. You pay for heat assistance whether you use it or not. You pay for public schooling whether you use it or not. You pay so that someone can get it “free.” It’s welfare.

By that logic, military defense is welfare. Everything is welfare if it benefits those who are not paying into the system. You need a better definition of the term.

I’m not necessarily agreeing with 668’s description, but military defense is different from the other examples in that everyone benefits from it.

Point of etiquette. When you refer to someone, ping them.

FYI, I pinged wintertime because she invariably improves threads on this topic.
