A major national publication that endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2008 today published a completely fabricated news story claiming Jerome Corsi's new best-selling "Where's the Birth Certificate," published by WND Books, has been disavowed by the publisher and taken out of stores nationwide, with refunds offered to purchasers.
Esquire, established in 1932, alleged on its website today under a "BREAKING" headline that Corsi's book was "pulled from shelves!"
Media are calling WND from around the world about the false report.
WND founder and CEO Joseph Farah confirmed he never spoke to Esquire.
"Never uttered these words or anything remotely resembling them to anyone," he said. "It is a complete fabrication."
Farah said, "The book is selling briskly. I am 100 percent behind it. This has all the earmarkings of a White House dirty trick but, of course, only the Nixon administration was capable of dirty tricks like that, according to our watchdog media."

get ‘em Corsi, don’t Trump out now. your prey is showing signs of becoming frantic...
So Esquire gets to present their point and escapes prosecution in civil court because it is satire. It’s a win-win for them and the Kenyan.

Do you work for the Esquire? Seriously? What really happened is that the Esquire got caught with their pants down. So to save themsevles from a lawsuit, they LATER added the ‘humor’ and ‘satire’ tags. Whatever.
This is NOT a win-win for them and the Kenyan. Why would you want that?
This is a win-win for WND and Dr. Jerome Corsi. The asshats at Esquire have stumbled badly. This is only gonna drive Corsi’s books sales UP!
It doesn’t matter whether they claim it was satire - it was clearly meant to interfere with the book’s release.
Would it be “satire” to publish lies about Obama?
This clearly crossed the line.
Please tell me how it could interfere with the book’s release?
If anything it is only going to help sales, much to Esquire’s chagrin, I’m sure.
Corsi’s book is currently #65 at Amazon.
Doesn’t sound very ‘satirical’ to me!
“Are its author and publisher chastened? Well. No. They double down, and accuse the president of the United States of perpetrating a fraud on the world by having released a forged birth certificate. This is despicable, and deserves only ridicule. That’s why we committed satire,” the note said.”
This was a straight forward attack.
Gonna be hard to prove in a court that the intent was just a ‘joke’.
When did I ever say I wanted it? I merely added my opinion a to the reasoning why Esquire would do such a thing and its results. What you take from it, regardless how erroneous, is your problem.
this whole thing just hit the BIG headline font on Drudge Report
Thats why we committed LIBEL—
1st Corsi interview -—>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7pdN3SCf-A&feature=youtu.be
Barack Obama's Teleprompter's Blog was loaded with "lies" about The 0ne. Point is, no one was ever meant to believe it.
If Esquire ever was a credible source, that vanished a substantial time ago.
It's essentially Mad Magazine for "adult" liberals.
It was meant to interfere with the publicity and promotion of the book by causing confusion.
That the article itself was satire does not undo the fact that people may simply glance at a headline and assume it to be true.
However, I do agree with you that the overall effect of this episode is that it will likely increase publicity and thereby book sales.
Thank you for moving this out of breaking news. Now, put it where it belongs, in the smokey backroom. What, the freakish posters think they’ll be able to remove obama because of some phantom mythical birth certificate? Whatever, he’s doing more damage to our country daily, and all their cards on the hope they’ll get him out of office for judicial procedure? That will take a thousand years to prosecute? Just junk this stuff.
Anyone planning on buying the book?
Absolutely - in fact, I preordered an autographed first edition copy from WND.com last month.
By the way, Dr. Jerome Corsi was just on the Janet Mefferd show this afternoon and said the book is “selling like crazy.”
Here is the interview:

Isn't that a redundancy?
Journalism joined the ranks of fiction about 20 years ago.
That is now the "New Standard," since the "competency" bar was lowered to several miles below sea level.
If it was at 65, it has ascended 48 positions in a very short time. It is currently at #17 and going up.

I hope WND and Corsi file a lawsuit. It would appear that Esquire has justified its false publication by the fact that WND and Corsi are falsely claiming that the birth certificate is a forgery. That would make the issue of whether the birth certificate is valid a relevant part of any suit. Hawaiian officials, Obama administration officials, and document experts could all be called to testify under oath.
Could be just the forum for exposing fraud. It will be necessary for WND and Corsi to claim enough damages that Esquire is reluctant to settle.
LOL...good one...(golf clap)...well played.
