JERUSALEM -Masked Palestinians whirling slingshots clashed with Israeli riot police in two Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem on Saturday after the shooting death of a teenage stone thrower. It was a sign of rising tensions on the eve of Palestinian commemorations of their uprooting during Israel's 1948 creation.
The possibility of escalation comes at a critical time for U.S. Mideast policy. President Barack Obama's envoy to the region, George Mitchell, resigned Friday, and the U.S. president may now have to retool the administration's incremental approach to peacemaking. Obama is to deliver a Mideast policy speech in the coming week.
Mitchell held the job for more than two years, but had little to show for it. Israeli-Palestinian talks resumed in September, but were quickly derailed by Israel's refusal to comply with an internationally mandated construction freeze in Jewish settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, war-won territories Palestinians want for their state.
Israelis and Palestinians on Saturday praised Mitchell and blamed each other for the failure of his mission.

And the terror attack in Tel Aviv today, where an Israeli was killed by a truck driver? 17 more were injured. Where’s the outrage for that?
Mark
Israel refyooozed to comply with an internationally mandated freeze that said “no jooos! allowed.” No mention of the 10 month freeze that was self-enforced in Judah and Shomron.

Remember, the Facebook page called for the 3rd Intifada to start this weekend....
...and go figure, there’s a new wave of coordinated violence.
And that is when the Obama regime invokes the newly discovered “right to protect” and attacks Israel.
..is this the arab Spring...CNN keep’s talking about? If it is, they can shove it.
I was watching this unfold on the net a couple days ago, when it happened.
At first the dear child was 16, then he was 17. He was shot in the shoulder. Then .... the reports were in the abdomen.
But...the REAL clincher...the Israeli’s wanted to do an autopsy to get to the bottom of it but no, his family said they wanted to bury him THEN. (sound familiar?) My gut was they’d riot during the funeral....they needed a scapegoat. And they had one.
NOT wearing my tinfoil hat too tight...I’d say he was killed FOR this reason and NOT by the Israeli’s.
Just my take on it.
LMAO

So: That’s what it is. An incremental approach to peacemaking. Funny stuff.
That policy speech should be a real knee slapper.
The Messiah saved the bacon of Hillary by appointing the worn out old man. He accomplished nothing and will fade away with a third pension.
Hillary accrued no failure for the impossible task Mitchel was given and survived to fail another day
Meanwhile the real battles will be fought to determine if there is really one united Palestinian state or one state and an infected pus seeping cancerous Gazan tumor.
There will be collateral damage to Israel as the uncontrollable battle progresses
I wouldn’t be surprised if any portion, or all, of your speculation turns out to be true. But a hypothesis is still a hypothesis.
Yeah, but the collateral damage will just be to joooz! So nobody really gets hurt.

Israel froze all building in Jerusalem for 9 months after the election of PM Netanyahu. The Palestinians refused to talk or negotiate. Then when the 9 months have passed, they blame Israel for not freezing construction. The bottom line is that even if Israel were willing to give up Jerusalem for peace, they wouldn’t do it as a precondition to peace talks. Talk, make an agreement, make peace and then live by it like all parties to a disagreement.
