I think so......
Sounds like Steyn sees it about the way I do...
Waiting for the RINO accusations to begin......
Eww Tim pawlenty? Might as well bring up the corpse of Bob Dole
Pawlenty isn’t bad on substance, but if that was decisive Barack Obama would not be President. Palin may end up having to run.
Steyn is Canadian, so I assume that he can’t vote in the U.S., despite all of the things that he says about the U.S. and U.S. politicians. Still, I like him a lot, and he’s very funny.
“Mark Steyn says he has a soft spot for Tim Pawlenty and believes he may be the last man standing to challenge Obama in 2012.”

When substituting for Rush, Mark also was angrily slamming the Constitutionalists (popularly known via Leftist demeaning terminology as the “Birthers”).
So that, plus his Pawlenty fandom, and dissing of Sarah Palin makes suddenly three things I vigorously disagree with the redoubtable Steyn on.
Ah well, I’m not fully on board with everything that comes from the formidable pen of VDH either.
/agree with Steyn. I’ve been saying this about Palin for a while now.
Let her use her political capital to continue as a pundit. When she is proved right time after time, she’ll be in a position where the democraps can’t attack her as effectively. Then, if she wisely takes a cabinet position as, say, Secretary of Energy, she’ll have even more experience and capital than before.
Everyone is too damned impatient in politics these days. Which is NOT to say that our need is not pressing, but there are others than can step up like Herman Cain who have a better shot.
Yes, I said it: Herman Cain has a better shot than Palin.
Right now I suspect the lady sees it the same way.....The looming election is a crapshoot. Can conservative and honest voters overcome the machinations of a well-organized opposition with nothing to fear if they violate electon law ? Looked at dispassionately the 2008 presidential election resulted in the dominance of an urban minority. Given that history why should the radical/progessive wing of the DNP change its tactics ? We’re already seeing incremental steps to re-inforce that result almost daily.... >PS
How about this idea. Let them all enter the primaries and let us decide.
Steyn can say all he wants. The primary winner will rise to the top with a clear lack of fear of calling Obama AND the media what they are and showing the world exactly that.
Besides a fighter, the winner will address the issues, unlike the hate and fear mongering lying DemoRats.
So, let the games begin :-)
Thank you, Mark, for unwittingly admitting to your abject terror at the very thought of a President Palin. You can run, but you can't hide... because Sarah's coming.
LMAO!!!!
8^D
I like almost all of what Marc Steyn writes. He is brilliant.
But there are also large territories that he doesn’t cover.
What does he think about the Right to Life? I don’t really know.
What does he think about strong Christian dedication? I don’t really know.
What does he think about Christian family principles? I don’t know.
I’m not faulting him for any of that. But if Marc was running for public office (I guess he can’t run for POTUS), I’d certainly like to know the answers to those questions.
Tim Pawlenty is kind of a weak midget compared to Sarah. He wouldn’t have a chance fighting the MSM and all the forces of evil and corruption. And while his principles are sound, I’m not sure if he’s strong enough to stick to them under the kind of pressure he would face.
Sarah would.
As I mentioned once, Timmy can borrow Sarah’s steel spine, if she decides not to run. He could use it. Moreover, I can’t seem to keep awake when I listen to him speak.
I too, like Steyn a lot, but this is a brain fart. She’s not a king-maker. King-makers have general universal respect. Any liberal comments about Palin show their baseless derision so she’s not going to change any of their minds.
2012 is a deathmatch. She wins and we can roll back the last twenty yrs of this bs. She loses and insurrection starts. We can’t send in the second string anymore.
Everyone seems to be assuming that Sarah will not run. But if she does not, she will have the power to veto any of the other candidates - and I think that is a good thing. She holds the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. The other candidates had beetr have nice things to say about her.
This might have been news yesterday, Mark is great, but like all of us he occasionally wrong. This nonsense uses up a lot of his good will.
Pawlenty comes from a blue collar back ground. A meat packing, union town, I believe. After all, that was his answer to every single question in the first debate.
