You've probably heard of having a corner on the market?
The Motley County (TX) Attorney says agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have the corner on something else.
ATF agents were blowing up old and unusable ordinance in Motley County Tuesday afternoon, when they ignited a blaze that consumed 100 to 150 acres.
FOX34 asked County Attorney Tom Edwards if the exercise violated the county's burn ban.
"I will say this and you can quote me on it. That bunch had a real corner on stupid. We had high winds. We're under a burn ban because of extensive prairie fire, brush fires, and in they roll with the idea of blowing up things and giving no notification to our Sheriff. We've got a few residents who thought there might have been a terrorist act going on. To do all of that with a burn ban in effect. I know a bunch about explosives from my military career and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that explosives cause fires. We had a very good wind blowing that evening also. On top of that, we've got the federal government that has refused to provide assistance to the state on the request of Governor Perry because of all our statewide fires. Then in waltzes federal agents and they start a fire. That to me is a corner on stupid," Edwards said.
Edwards said he's still investigating the burn and tallying the damage and response costs which he said the ATF promises to reimburse.
Edwards also told FOX34 that an ATF administrator has apologized to the Motley County Sheriff for not notifying him of the exercise.
Not the only Government agency with that problem.
” Actually we are here to make problems, set fires, and cost people money”
...and kill you if we want to.
...and steal your house, raise your taxes, touch your junk at the airport, and audit you by the IRS if you donate to the wrong political party.
The list can go on and on and on.
Welcome to the police state. You have NO rights.
Calculate the damages, if that falls into the range to make it a felony (or even a misdemeanor), I would say that that local Law Enforcement has the authority to arrest every ATF agent involved with the fire as a result of their stupidity...
Why protect your relationship with a Federal Agency if they are complicite in a feloneous act...
Greg Abbott??? Where are youuuuuuu???
Incredible! But then it IS BATFE, and it IS the flippin’ the wee birdie Obama administration with support from long entrenched bureaucrats in Leftist created bureaucracies.
It’s all got to change. They, and theirs have to go.
We have to have the fortitude to flip the wee birdie back at ‘em, and follow up with a doubled fist.
Bunch of dumbasses on parade if the didn’t account for the ban, the potential for kickouts etc...
This has huntsville wannabes written all over it.
If they did not at the very least ask for a receive fire fighters to standby the charge every damn one of em for destruction an endangerment of property.
ATF punk posers...
I always thought the ATF would make for a GREAT store. One stop shopping for all your weekend needs.
But as a federal bureaucracy? Forget it.
The stupid, it burns!
ATF - Another Texas Fire!
Literally!
: )
Stuck on stupid.
Excitement for this evening is a shed/brush fire over by Apple Valley. Luckily for me the wind is from the east.
I’ve got these old Ray Bans with bronze lenses that can “see” smoke, even when the naked eye can’t. Something about the color contrast.
I followed the plume back down Buckboard, to check, and the FD way already there. Based on smoke now they seem to have knocked it down.
Cool.... Is there a model number on those glasses ?
That is good stuff .
ATF sucks....:o)
Can ya see nekkid wimmin with em too?! LOL! :-) Sorry... couldn’t resist. :-)
I can see nekkid wimmen with my eyes closed. ;)
No model number, I got them in ‘85 and managed to preserve them by just using for driving.
If I can find out anything I’ll let you know. I’ve spotted at least three fires in the early stage with them.
