White House officials have sidelined a rapper who glibly validated threats and violence against police, and quietly dropped him from the afternoon session of today’s poetry event at the White House.
First lady Michelle Obama welcomed the invited poets to the event, but notably did not mention the controversial rapper, whose stage-name is Common. “Rita Dove, Billy Collins, Kenny Goldsmith, Alison Knowles, and Aimee Mann, let’s give them a round of applause,” Ms. Obama said. “We’ll get to hear from these folks,” she added.
The first lady’s office declined to comment on whether Common will play a role in the event’s evening session.

One interesting aside, both Barry and Michelle have repeatedly (esp. Barry) used the word “folks” which the MSM used to vilify George W. Bush for.
These idiots live in such an echo chamber that they didn’t even think to poll how America would feel about them having a racist rapper who supports cop-killing before inviting the guy.
If Obama wins a second term, I am giving up on the USA that I grew up in, and will have to figure out what to do at that point.
Guess he took the hints.

As my wife pointed out after all the kibitzing today... If we think the current pres_ent sucks, and are generally displeased with the entire host of losers occupying the White Hut, then why do we care if some jackass visits? If you knew the list of losers that visit the White Hut on a regular basis you’d probably have a coronary.

When did rap become accepted and mainstreamed?
I seem to recall, not too many years ago, rap was obscene and villified. It had obscene unprintable lyrics, and glorified violence. Rap was to the music world like pornography is to the movie world.
But now, somehow, rap is cool and mainstream. We now celebrate rappers like Snoop Doggy Dogg and Kanye West.
Come to think of it, pornography is getting mainstreamed too. Must be a sad trend of the times.
