Gov. Bobby Jindal arrived in the United States in utero, his mother about three months pregnant. jindal-birth-certificate.jpgView full sizeGov. Bobby Jindal's birth certificate

As he wrote last year in his book, "Leadership and Crisis," his mother had been offered a scholarship in 1970 to complete a graduate degree in nuclear physics at LSU.

When she informed the university that she couldn't accept the scholarship because she was pregnant, "LSU wrote back and promised her a month off for childbirth if she changed her mind. LSU was so accommodating, and the opportunity to come to America so thrilling, that my parents accepted.

"So, my parents stepped out on faith, secured green cards, packed up a few suitcases, said their goodbyes, and took off for this exotic new place called Baton Rouge, Louisiana."

Coming from an empty leftist watermellon head like you, I’m sure that’s worth placing in my resume.

Yep. Put it there. Right next to the place where you claim that Bobby Jindal isn’t a natural born citizen. Then just wait for all the job offers to pour in.

Just got back from an afternoon with my dear friend and drinking buddy
He is VERY LIBERAL
We have discussed this issue over the past few months
I showed him both Jindal’a and 0bama’s paperwork

I pointed out an abstract of a record is not the same as a true complete correct copy of a certificate or document registered with the State.

I think my LIBERAL drinking buddy is now on our side!

I unbeliever at a time!

I think that’s what I read, somewhere. I would just like to have Barry ousted in 2012, by a decent Conservative who will work to restore this country. Someone who loves this country.

I don’t know where this draconian definition of NBC came from.

It seemed to appear somewhere around November, 2008. Funny, there's several threads about Jindal dating from September, 2008 with many posts supporting the idea of a "Palin/Jindal" candidacy in 2012. I haven't perused all of them but I have yet to see a post arguing Jindal's ineligibility that dates prior to Obama's election.

In MY 8th grade class were were taught if you were born here, you were thus natural born and eligible for the Presidency.

Same here and I'm 42 years old. Perhaps someone can cite a textbook entry?

It has simply blown my mind that so many people have been yelling this from the rooftops when not a single person in the whole wide world didn’t know that Obama senior was not a citizen.

Were they thinking that maybe that was news to the SCOTUS and it just needed to be pointed out?

Perhaps Chief Justice Roberts missed that day in class. You'd think that Hillary Clinton, a woman who wanted to be President more than anyone as well as a graduate of Yale Law might've brought up this alleged constitutional prohibition that Obama faced.

Sorry folks....I haven’t found a single legal mind that agrees with you.

I know of not one reputable conservative legal foundation that supports a definition of NBC that requires both parents to be U.S. citizens.

I certainly think that citizenship should be derived only from legal immigrant or citizen parents, i.e. children of illegals should not have birthright citizenship. No child should benefit so greatly from the crimes of his parent.

Should children of non-citizen legal immigrants be denied the right to run for President or VP? Many would say yes, I suppose, but we should have had that debate before one was elected President.

Agree. In addition, according to Selective Service Rules regarding aliens residing in the US:

NON-CITIZENS
Some non-citizens are required to register. Others are not. Noncitizens who are not required to register with Selective Service include men who are in the U.S. on student or visitor visas, and men who are part of a diplomatic or trade mission and their families. Almost all other male noncitizens are required to register, including illegal aliens, legal permanent residents, and refugees. The general rule is that if a male noncitizen takes up residency in the U.S. before his 26th birthday, he must register with Selective Service. For a more detailed list of which non-citizens must register,

Registration is the law. A man who fails to register may, if prosecuted and convicted, face a fine of up to $250,000 and/or a prison term of up to five years.

CITIZENSHIP
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) makes registration with Selective Service a condition for U.S. citizenship if the man first arrived in the U.S. before his 26th birthday.

In addition to such perks as financial aid, jobs, and schools being tied to SService for American citizens, this is another law that illegal immigrants have broken, but not penalized.

Keep on making a fool of yourself.

Perhaps you can convince Britannica that they had a bad definition too?

And 150 years of American Government textbooks from back when we had real teachers?

Your agenda to melt down American culture and replace it with global manure is going to hit plenty of snags.

“We” had that debate in 1787, and that is why the constitution requires citizen parents for Natural Born citizen candidates.

Your weakness and disrespect for the constitution is appaling.

"I think, maybe, Jindal knows that he is not a Natural Born Citizen and is taking this action to bring the issue to the fore. He seems like a genuinely good man and it is unfortunate that he does not qualify."

He's a great man. How does he not "qualify"? He was born in America.

Please read the following and think about it before you respond:

If the Founders took Natural Born Citizen to mean just anyone born on American soil, why did they differentiate natural born from mere citizen when they wrote the Constitution? ... Prior to the fourteenth amendment, the Constitution discerns at least three types of citizenship, only one of which is naturalized citizenship. One is natural born citizenship (parents who are citizens and born on American soil, and mere citizenship derived from being born on American soil. A mere citizen can be born with dividied citizenship/dividied loyalties; a natural born citizen will not be born with divided citizenship since both parents are American citizens at the child's birth, natural born being derived in the special case of president and vice president from their parents as citizens of America and born on American soil.

Read it again. There are only two. Naturalized and natural born.

No other distinction.

In the very section defining president eligibility, the founder differentiated between mere citizen and natural born citizen. They did not write redundantly. You know you're wrong by the simple fatc that the founders wrote and exception clause to include a class of citizenship which is the from which naturalized derives but which was not then a naturalization process! The founders differentiate mere citizenship from natural born when they wrote the exception clause. The then went on to define a naturalization process which is distinctly different from both native citizenship (born on American soil/OR/born of one or more citizen parents but not on American soil) and natural born citizenship (born on Americxan soil AND born of parents who are American citizens at the time of the child's birth).

Droning on and on a lie that is blatantly refuteds by the facts of the Constitution makes anti-birther obamanoids look foolish to those who apply even rudimentary logic tot eh concept of divided loyalties which John Jay addressed in a private letter as the Constitution was still in construction.

He was born a citizen of India.

So what.

He was also born a citizen of the United States, and that makes him eligible!

I don’t think that he is either, if you use what I thought was the definition. He was born before his parents were citizens.

Well, you thought wrong. Just ask Chief Justice John Roberts, who twice swore in Barack Obama (while no doubt figuratively holding his nose).
