Spin: With the White House's story about how Osama bin Laden was killed changing by the hour, it's now imperative that the White House show proof he's dead, including photos and DNA analysis.
'There is no doubt that Osama bin Laden is dead," President Obama told "60 Minutes." So releasing a photo of him won't "make any difference."
In fact, there are growing doubts not just among bin Laden supporters, but also 9/11 families, who demand release of the photos. They're doing so because parts of the White House narrative have proved false.
First we were told a "firefight" consumed most of the 40-minute assault on bin Laden's safe house.
"There were many other people who were armed in the compound" besides bin Laden, White House spokesman Jay Carney said. "There was a firefight."
It turns out bin Laden was unarmed, as were three others killed. U.S. commandos weren't, as the administration claimed, "met with a great deal of resistance."
In fact, there was no firefight. Commandos spent most of the raid gathering computer and other evidence.
Several other threads of the story have unraveled, including White House counterterror adviser John Brennan's claim that bin Laden used his wife as a "shield."

While I don’t think that’s totally without merit as an argument, I am still stuck with the fact that right now we’re seeing very little anger on the street across the Middle-East.
Isn’t that a good thing? Why press our luck by pushing the matter more, with shocking photos? What is better than no violence, the status now?
The violence can’t go down if there isn’t any. It can go up, way up.
They're quiet because they know this whole thing is a sham. They know OBL is a has-been, all washed up. He hasn't been critical to AQ's operations for years. In fact, AQ itself is on the outs.
The ascendent Islamist power is now the Muslim Brotherhood, and MB sold out OBL in exchange for Obama destabilizing Mubarak in Egypt and overthrowing Gadhafi in Libya, so that they can establish a new Caliphate in North Africa.
He will indeed live on like Elvis in some of their minds.
If we showed them the picture, had them run their fingers through his hair, and showed them videos of his family mourning him, they still wouldn’t believe it.
The family has stated he was killed. That’s still not good enough. What makes you think a photo with portions of his face blown off is going to change that?
Look, I do believe the Muslim Brotherhood is on the prowl, at the behest of Iran. I’m not really buying the sell-out of Laden by the MB though.
I predicted a United States of Iran before Mubarak was placed on the ropes by our pres__ent. People were convinced it was a good thing to destabilize Egypt and any other place the Muslim hordes wanted to. I didn’t.
In time it will become more clear. We’ll be sorry.
MB proxies are going to wind up in charge of a number of nations over there. It’s going to get ugly.
I saw earlier today that the Saudi press is saying that Zawahiri sold out OBL. Probably BS, but it could set off delicious internal AQ bloodbath. We’ll see.
I give a damn about every one of our Brave Servicemen. I had two Nephews serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. A family friend, a Port Authority Police Officer, was murdered on 9/11. Don't confuse my questioning of our supposed Leader's motives with not caring for our Troops or the safety of the American people.
Here is how I see your point of view and what I take from your position on this subject:
According to your logic, our sworn enemies will lay down their arms because they really don't believe the Semi-Muslim President of the United States when he admitted the Jihadist’s Holy Leader OBL was shot in cold blood? Well, it did take a few days for that story to come out.
In your scenario, the Jihadist has one of our Brave Soldiers in his sights, and he is ready to squeeze the trigger when he thinks to himself, if only they showed the picture of our beloved Bin Laden I could kill this Infidel.
You don't agree with my points, so be it. I am questioning the logic of your opinion as you are obviously questioning mine but I assure you that I am not playing a game.
You don't have to “play along” with my responses. I asked you a direct question and you chose not to answer it. That is fine with me.
Over the past few days we have all been exposed to lies and deceit from Obama and his minions. They have caved and let the enemies determine that the American people cannot be privy to the evidence of what our Leaders are telling us. I'm curious when the story changes ten times, aren't you?
I'm not here to piss people off. I'm here to discuss this topic, which has turned into the biggest scam, blunder, cesspool, you name it, that these Obama loving bastards in the White House have foisted upon this country (so far).
You have your position and I have mine. Our Country is showing weakness, and weakness only emboldens our enemies.
Good night.
Well, I’ve made my case to others above this response, so for the most part I’ll just repeat what I just got through saying to someone else.
You and I don’t trust Obama any farther than we can toss his sorry ass, but I do trust our military and they have done the deed. Laden’s relatives agree. The military in Pakistan agrees. The government of Pakistan agrees. Saudi Arabia agrees. Middle-Eastern nations agree. The leaders of Al Qaeda have agreed. Tell me who that leaves out, other than a few Middle-Eastern wing-nuts.
No, Allah didn’t protect him. Perhaps Allah has switched sides and now backs the U. S.
Now that would be interesting wouldn’t it.
Perhaps the U. S. should confirm it, true or not. LMAO
Talk about your double-cross, or just delicious subterfuge.
Many Posters here have come up with reasons that we haven't seen much push back from Al Queda and others, but time will tell.
I still feel this Administration is making this an issue by changing the story and withholding information from the American people. It is unnecessary, and I think we both agree on that point.
We have gruesome pictures of three dead bastards, one of which is probably OBL'S Son, but they have not sparked the violence you think would happen. Why is that? Conjecture is all we have at this point.
Some nutcase Jihadist might be steaming over the fact that the Seals had a Dog with them inside their Holy Leader's house. That could be enough to set them off. Who knows, they are all nuts anyway.
There is more to this story and Obama’s attitude is making things worse. Transparency is a ghost to this Administration and this is only one small part.
Anyway, I appreciate the time you invested explaining your opinion. Many here just tell other posters to go fly a kite.
He’s alive! (of course)
And are you ignoring the well known fact the Taliban only respect strength, not weakness or coddling. They will likely double down on attacks with this “courageous restraint” crap.
As I said before, I could prove to you more incidences of this regime favoring the Taliban over our troops - but you ignore what I already sent.
I will put two short clips here, not for you as you're swallowing the Kool Aid - but for others reading here who may not have thought through the total LIE of them worrying about our troops....
Why pull out and gift the Taliban with highly strategic territory (lying through their teeth about it) and LEAVING THE Taliban, WITHOUT A FIGHT, great caches of our weapons: bullets, missiles, rocket grenades, etc?...that the enemy not only COULD use against our troops, but bragged they would = and they did. (I'm sure they appreciated being left all those weapons - they didn't have to hump them over the Hindu Kush mts.)
I expect you'll ignore this proof that also outs the LIE about worrying about our troops. Don't know why. But you're entitled. Myself, I never did likeKool Aid

(I know the Sky Soldiers that fought and died in that God Forsaken Korengal - these videos are NOT staged, lest you think these aren't true.
This was a great ‘victory’ for the Taliban - without having to fight for it. This has given them great impetuous to not only continue to fight, but to ramp it up. They feel they have a friend in the WH. (BTW, bin laden trained the Towers bombers in this valley - this is the valley where our SEAL team and rescue helicopter and all on board were killed - they were in there to get bin laden, who was, in 2005, still in the valley. Maybe the SEALS, having gotten so close -and would probably have gotten him then had they not let the goat herders go - the ones who then alerted the Taliban - hundreds of whom descended on the SEALS - So did this spook bin Laden - is this when he scooted over to “Paukistan.”?
I appreciate your response, and I don’t have any objection to anything you said. In fact I think it was a nice post. Thank you.
When discussing these matters I feel compelled to give my side of the conversation the full support it deserves. I sometimes play a contrarian role because I think there is another side that I want folks to contemplate.
Here I do have mixed thoughts on the subject. I will have to say that I lean about 80/20 in favor of what I have been promoting. It did bother me to go across so many threads and see folks completely dismiss this issue as if there was only one decision that could be made here.
Herman Cain was roundly criticized last night on the forum for taking the opinion I had. I took this position before the debate and only found out during it that he agreed with me based on the same grounds. That’s not presented as conclusive proof that I was right. It’s provided as a side note. The other four candidates agreed with you.
Anyway, I appreciate the fact that you realized I was arguing this academically, and didn’t take offense to some of my wording that seemed to put you on the sport more than I should have. Sometimes there are rather sensitive statements that do need to be made in the course of a discussion. I wasn’t trying to be mean or blatantly inconsiderate, and your acceptance of those arguments did make for a more productive debate IMO.
It allowed people to understand the concept, without turning it into a real flame war. Very nice.
I do not, and never did think you don’t care about our troops, and your relatives in the region make that very clear. I appreciate their service very much, and care about them very much. Here’s to them coming home healthy as can be.
Take care.
I agree; that would have been better than the fiasco orchestrated by this regime in the aftermath of the very successful operation against bin laden!
JC
Again, I appreciate your taking the time to explain why you have reached the conclusion regarding this issue as you have. The flak is heavy on both sides of this issue.
Now, you have reminded me that I have to make my FR Donation before the Freepathon is over. Take care.
You take care too K.C. See you around bud...
Maine-Iac7, I don’t believer I ever made the case that the Obama administration gives a damn about our troops, unless he can take credit for their actions.
I have expressed my policy decisions or my thoughts about Obamas ultimate decision on this matter, in that I agree with it and have stated why.
I have not addressed why he did it. Frankly, with this guy I wouldn’t hazard a guess.
Why would I accuse you of falsifying some video?
Man, I think you’re reading way too much into my decision not to back the release of the picture.
Take care.
