The Candidates...
Gary Johnson
Johnson served as governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2002. He founded what would become one of the largest construction companies in New Mexico. He has competed in several triathlons and climbed Mount Everest.
Herman Cain
Cain is the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He lost the Georgia Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He was recently the host of Atlanta-based radio show.
Rick Santorum
Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006.
Ron Paul
Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House. Hes an obstetrician-gynecologist and was the Libertarian nominee for president in 1988. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008
Tim Pawlenty
Pawlenty served two terms as governor of Minnesota, from 2002 to 2010. He served in the Minnesota House from 1992 until 2002. He is the son of a truck driver.
LLS
Paul asked same question. Says union wages are artificially high and the cost has been loss of jobs. Says interstate commerce clause should not be used to block businesses.
Pawlenty defending "intelligent design" education bill he signed which leaves such topic to local decisions. Asked about his support for Cap & Trade and his infamous greenhouse regulation ad. He says he was wrong, made a mistake and regrets it. Now opposes Cap & Trade.
Had he committed on an informed issue to only change his mind later on the media would have turned the screws even harder.
What a dumb question by Chrissy. Who cares what Santorum wrote about women in a book in 2005.
What’s That quote from Rush mean. I don’t understand what that means.
Naw... those people have nothing to do now that Jerry Garcia is dead.
LLS
Pawlenty sound the most like a career politician. He doesn’t answer the questions decisively. He tries to put his personal story in first, then gives a quick answer at the end of his time.
We’re good.
As for Nikki, frankly I wish she were on the stage with these clowns tonight.
That question and Juan’s question about evolution are the most irrelevant questions asked so far.
Your right... can’t win for losing... they have it down on attacking good candidates and taking them out before the people even have a chance to cast a vote.
Make that an ‘uninformed’ issue. :-)
Santorum asked about his controversial writings on women. Spinning to avoid misogynist charges. Wallace gives him a second chance to get himself out of the noose and Santorum claims he only meant to say radical feminism created an atmosphere that denigrates the choice to stay at home.
And Santorum sounds angry and defensive. Pawlenty and Cain are the only ones out of this bunch that have a shot of going far, IMO. Romney should be here, btw. What a chicken.
I thought I heard one of the panel say that we could give an opinion on those who are not there tonight. Anybody get a link to that?
I'm starting to lean to the Col North's opinion that nothing should have been said at all --- keep them guessing. What we have now is a circus - what we would have is a circus with more pictures.
Ron Paul getting the prostitution and heroine vote
Ron Paul just made a damn good point.
I do agree that liberty is an all-encompassing umbrella.
No doubt that she would be the center of attention. She is very articulate.
LLS
I think Paul and Johnson are on drugs right now.
