The Palins were in Alabama today helping out with disaster relief in the wake of last weeks killer tornado outbreak. Via Samaritans Purse:
Todd Palin, four-time winner of the Iron Dog off-road snowmobile race across Alaska, along with his wife, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, joined Samaritans Purse volunteers to help tornado victims in Birmingham, Alabama, on Wednesday.
I came here to work hard, Todd said. Theres no point in being here if youre not going to work hard.
After getting a safety briefing and talking with volunteers, the Palins joined a crew helping homeowner J.L. Price recover from the storm. They help haul off brush and debris, and, with the rest of the team, prayed with Mr. Price.
It feels great to be working out here, Sarah said. I hope more people sign up with Samaritans Purse so they can be blessed like I am today.
The Price home took a direct hit from a tornado, and sustained a lot of damage.
Its hard to imagine anyone surviving this, Todd said. What a terrifying time it must have been for them. This just really gets you.
While going through the debris, Todd found a wooden plaque bearing the Price name and nailed it to a tree, one of the few things remaining standing on the property.
This is the third time the Palins have participated in Samaritans Purse relief efforts.
In December, Todd, Sarah, and daughter Bristol joined Franklin Graham for a two-day visit to Haiti. They surveyed our work with cholera patients, handed out Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts to children, and visited a shelter community Samaritans Purse built in the aftermath of the January earthquake.
In 2009, the governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee joined Graham to hand out food parcels to families in Alaskan villages facing hunger because of a harsh winter.
I appreciate their willingness to bring hope to people in need, Graham said

What kind and caring people they are.
Even though photos were taken, the Palins didn’t do this for a photo op, unlike someone who shall remain nameless, and only does things if a camera is on hand to make himself look good.
I wish that was my President.
They were there most of the day. from my understanding only those 5 photos have I found. So yeah I agree not a photo op.
So do I. tough when she needs to be tough and caring when she needs to be caring. This country would be so much better under her leadership...i hate the MSM for what they have done to her.
How nice it would be if these wonderful people were president and first dude.
This story brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful!
It wasn’t a photo op? Then why the announcement? Why the link to the photos?
If you look at Sarah Palin, she’s certainly not dressed for a photo op.
Photo ops are pretend and pretentious.
Work gloves and a long sleeve baggy shirt are a far cry from a staged photo op.
Sarah isn’t that much younger than I am, but it wears me out just trying to keep up with where and what Sarah is doing.
Since you seem to think there is no sincerity in their actions, please detail all those times that they showed up for a picture and took the next stagecoach out of Dodge.
Perhaps you can start with the photo of Sarah Palin's personal hairdresser fixing her bangs in Haiti. You know, the one that looked exactly like Sarah's daughter.
That's just my take on your cheap shot, but I certainly could be wrong about your motivations.
“Those who put themselves last shall be first.”
yeap divas they are not.
man your PDS is bad isn’t it.
this is a photo op incase you missed it.
Samaritans Purse. I would imagine as a fund raising tool to raise funds to help the people of AL.
Gov Palin made no release, she did not as far as I know give any interviews except to Samaritans Purse.
Where’s Queen Moochelle or the Dictator?
