The head of the CIA admitted yesterday that there was no live video footage of the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound as further doubts emerged about the US version of events.

Well I guess I should have read the article before posting, since the article says there were cameras, but they went to blackout (intentionally or unintentionally, it doesn’t say)...
Still. I want the whole truth as much as the next guy, but there’s a difference between healthy skepticism and hysterical paranoia.
As much as we’re used to seeing everything in real time in our digital era, I don’t think it’s reasonable to take the absence of live video footage of a sensitive combat mission in a 3rd world country as evidence of some kind of cover-up. Shit happens.
The ever-changing story IS growing more suspicious by the hour, but I never took “watching in real time” literally to mean a live streaming feed from the top of a SEAL’s head as they stormed the compound.

Helmet cams are pretty standard these days, although not for real time. They’re downloaded later. The real time observation is done from aircraft overhead, so commanders can watch the entire operation.

To me it looks like an aerial of the bin Laden compound.

In my view, this is not an eligibility issue. It is a way for our soldiers to have some measure of protection from this regime that looks, as this continues to unfold, that they might like to throw the Seals under the bus in the event that world outcry starts to shift in a negative direction.
The military needs to be able to prove and show a court that their guys acted admirably and ethically and that they were following orders. Wouldn’t be the first time this regime went after a special ops guy in the name of political correctness.

Maybe the Panetta, Clinton coup has some truth to it.And with Panetta going to SecDef and Petraeus to DCI, maybe Obama is being removed from the loop.

Can there be any credence to the theory that Osama was actually killed years ago on the orders of Pres George W Bush but because of the sensitive nature of the information in the prevailing circumstances, Pres Bush did not want to publicize it and take credit for it?

The third guy on the recently published Reuters’ photos of the inside of the campound (photos leaked by a Pakistani official) is definitely the dead body of Khaled Bin Laden, Osama’s son, that being the first visual and undeniable proof that the Bin Laden family was at that campound that night.
