President Obama invited former President George W. Bush on a visit to Ground Zero on Thursday but Bush has declined, according to two people familiar with the situation.
Obama will travel to the site of the World Trade Center attacks of Sept. 11 in the days following the killing of Osama bin Laden in a U.S. special forces operation in Pakistan. He will meet with families of Sept. 11 victims, according to the Associated Press.
Obama last went to Ground Zero in 2008.

Good for Bush. No need to add any luster to BHO’s photo op.

Obama needs to own it.
While I applaud his actions on this case, it makes a mockery of his former hopey changey worldview, and all the fools who saddled him with a Nobel Peace Prize.

President Bush, who is always a good and classy man knows that he’s still a lightening rod for the left. I understand his decision but shame on left who hate their country.

Premature. The 10th anniversary of 9/11 is coming up in September and this (bin Laden's death) can be part of the remembrance.
Plus Memorial Day is right around the corner too.
Nothing but a cheap political trick by Zero, trying to make himself look big next to Bush.

I would pass too. I would be willing to bet my next paycheck when the Narcissist in Chief gets up to speak at ground zero he will find a way to sneak in “I did what Bush could not because I am The One”.
He is a totally self absorbed, self-aggrandizing, narcissistic, attention whore. Which is why he and Oprah get on so well, attention whores of a feather.

Unity. hmph. More like a squalid exploitation of the survivors for political preening. Typical leftwing overreach. This should be a real embarrassment and Bush is smart to go in September when there is a valid reason to.
To: catfish1957
Agree. Obama is as shameless as Clinton. Neither would EVER pass up a political photo-op!
To: Hojczyk
If Bush had agreed, Obama would have smirked at him right in front of the cameras and microphones, and said, “Ha, ha, I got Bin Ladin and YOU DIDN’T.”
If he didn’t actually say it, that’s what he would have implied.
News for Obama: 9/11 is not a photo-op.
