With all the renewed talk about waterboarding I thought it would be a good thing to open a thread where folks who have been waterboarded can sign and leave their comments for posterity.
The rest of the Freepers can thank us for our service and sacrifice in perfecting this effective non-torture technique.
And, there is not one person who has administered a session that has not themselves been "on the board".

So at what precise point does interrogation become torture? If I keep you awake a little too long? Leave the lights on? Play Britney Spears 24/7?

June 79 for me.
Prickly pears. Yuk. Our whole crew found about 2.
On day 5 or so one of the trainer came to camp with a dead jack rabbit (there were 40 or 50 of us) and I got the eye.
That was as hungry as I had ever been. Stung by wasps, blisters, sunburned, beaten/bruised, waterboarded and no more than 3 hours sleep in the final 4 days.
We had plenty of clean, fresh water though:)

It’s apparent Talisker has an opinion not based in reality.

SERE at North Island and Warner Springs, '69.
The 'guards' would pick out 3 or four for a waterboarding demonstration with the rest of us watching. I wasn't one chosen...thankfully. The 'voluteers' would give up their little sisters after the second pail.

SERE/CWST Brunswick, Maine ‘91... the winter of love, at 35 below, I would have snuggled with Keith Olbermann to keep warm... Water Boarding? that was for little girls compared to what we got.

Supposedly KSM was waterboarded how many times: 168??
Sooner or later you have to recognize that this contined treatment is horseshit and you’re not going to be allowed to die, so F’em, go with the plan!

Mis/Disinformation.
He spent 2 minutes on the waterboard and purred like a kitten from that time forward.

Dude. It's already public information as to what goes on at SERE. It's been on the news.
You are free to speak about it now...legally:)

BROKER was waterboarding Spring 1975 near San Diego courtesy of US Navy SERE School. We were in training for overseas assignments vulnerable to foreign capture and torture. My treatment was particularly severe in retribution for flipping an combatant officer over my shoulder to the dirt. On the board I passed out and scared these faux combatants.
Waterboarding is no big deal.

The aqueous humour of the rabbits eye serves as a source of vitamin C. We were told the only higher source of vitamin C in a survival situation was rose pedals and we wouldn’t see any of those. That’s the story they gave us.
