Despite DNA evidence, some doubt bin Laden really dead

Within hours of the raid on Osama bin Laden's Pakistan compound, the CIA had used 21st technology to get "a virtually 100 percent DNA match" on the dead man. But something out of another century may come back to haunt the United States: the al-Qaida leader's burial at sea.

Conspiracy theorists on the left and right were quick to insist bin Laden was either still alive or had been dead for years, pouncing on the government's decision to slide the body of the world's most wanted man off a board into the Arabian Sea.

The burial at sea largely followed widely accepted interpretations of Islamic law taking care not to anger the mainstream Muslim community, said Ebrahim Moosa, a professor of Islamic studies at Duke University in North Carolina.

With only a small group of witnesses, a military officer read prepared religious remarks, which were translated into Arabic by a "native speaker," the official said.

The Islamic tradition of a quick burial was the subject of intense debate in Iraq in 2003 when U.S. forces embalmed the bodies of Saddam Hussein's two sons after they were killed in a firefight. Their bodies later were shown to media.

I strongly suspect some form of pork was inserted into one or more of Osama’s orifices before the body made it to the aircraft carrier. I believe the soul is still around the body for a period after death. Which means Osama had an “IT’S BACON!” moment. Or in other words, Osama was porked after death. Then, if he was a true believer, his soul went to hell.

Someone needs to make up a decal of a pig pissing on Obama so people can stick it on their pickup windows. We’re fools for not using Muslim religious beliefs against them. How about 72 devils instead?

#2 moot...well there were rumors of his death multiple times over the years. He could have died of a heart attack 3 weeks ago, and still be dead; however, dear leader does not come off as a hero or the patriot responsible for the death of the arch enemy of the US like he is now...

You have a right to your opinion about the absurd, but I trust IF verified and so far, seeing pics of administration looking concerned at some unseen screen, tweets from some Pakistani bystander, pics of a compound, or information on a Seal Team is not enough from this bunch. If they are going to release photos of the assault, osama, or the burial, they sure are taking their dear sweet time.

We live in an age of pictures...I find it interesting that the lap dog media on this occasion requires none.

Sorry, if Bush claimed he got Osama, I would be a lot more accepting of the President’s word, but this administration has given me no reason to ever believe they are telling the truth, ever!!! So why should I believe them sans proof now?

If there’s any conspiracy afoot, it’s the posibility that OBL’s BEEN dead for years and the matter can finally be put to rest (no more need to claim he’s alive for military actions). Too much risk of him stepping out of the shadows otherwise.

And to address your lead post point, he’s “not a muslim” yet not treating him in the Islamic manner would pi$$ off the “moderate” muslims who don’t need to denounce him because they don’t believe in his cause or his misuse of Islam. Basically it’s an admission that the moderates ARE NOT moderate. They still subscribe to Islamonazism as a political ideology and accept the premise that those in the West “are not innocent” therefore innocent men, women, and children are NOT being killed by their calls for jihad.

The Pakis knew last minute, US embarrassed them after by saying they didn’t know. Payback is my guess. You have to understand that in diplomacy you find out the truth much later.

Bush showed some pictures of mangled but pancaked bodies. They have them for OBL and will probably release.
A conspiracy of such scale is impossible to pull off. IMPOSSIBLE. Think of how many people are supposed to lie about this and what would happen if discovered...much worse than Watergate because it’s international too. His ratings would be at 0.2%, if that, and it’s not even a late October surprise. So don’t be sad, celebrate.

I think I know, and it fits with your final comment. You are trying to say people that question the death are same ilk (and that is meant negatively) as birthers—questioning the death has no merit just like questioning birth certificate has no merit same group, etc...You did not show any proof of what you said...just an opinion that it would be absurd to question—like the birthers....Sorry, I find that tacky. I thought you might be a troll, but now just insensitive. You are pretty new around here to be stereoptyping a long-standing group who have put in a lot of research especially when you say:

which is just an unrefuted assumption, unless you work for the diplomatic core.

Are the “birthers” correct; are the “deaqthers” correct? I don’t know, but they are trying to do research, not make assumptions, and not insult those tho don’t agree. I don’t know if I am a birther, and I don’t know if I am a deather, but it is perfectly appropriate to VERIFY rather than just assume and take the administration’s word for anything. Oh, and I would never pick on a group like that in this forum especially if my signup date was Dec 2010.

The UBL compound is 100 yards from a Pakistani military base. 4 helicopters fly in, there is a 40 minute fire-flight and nobody from the military base wonders and goes to find out what’s going on?

I'm all the locals, military and civilian, knew perfectly well that if helicopters showed up one night and a gunfight broke out at that particular house, the only smart thing to do would be to turn up the volume on the TV and close the shades.

Otherwise, yes, the place would have been crawling with security personnel investigating the scene in minutes.

I have no doubts our Seals went on the mission and killed a man, maybe Bin Laden. The did as commanded.

My problem comes with the aftermath. If the man was indeed Bin Laden, they could just put the proof they have out there as Bush did with Hussien’s sons.

There will always be people who refuse to believe it, but then it will be their problem only.

I would not accept zero proof no matter who occupies the WH. Integrity dictates that you do all possible to show people you have done as you claim.
