NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- After jumping more than 3 cents over the weekend, gas prices across America could top $4 a gallon this week, according to one industry analyst.
"We're going to hit $4 this week, nationally," said Tom Kloza, chief analyst at the Oil Price Information Service. "There's enough momentum to take us up there."
As of Monday, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline now stands at $3.952, according a daily survey from motorist group AAA. That's up from $3.943 a gallon on Sunday and continues a 44-day streak of gas price increases.

This is a good quote to use in the post-it note campaign next time you fill up at the gas station.
I got an email from Gas Buddy advising of the hike, and Meijer confirmed it on Facebook a short time later. Seems there’s a refinery/distribution problem in either Illinois or Indiana, which is hitting the Great Lakes area hard.
Geez, like we weren’t hit before.
The cost of leaving this liberal enclave is increasing.

Filled up last Monday @ $3.87/gallon. Same station a couple of hours ago, $4.19. (32 cents in just the past week)
At this rate we’ll easily blow by nationwide $5.00 averages by Memorial Day.
Thanks N0bama!
Jumped .20 to 4.29 in W. MI this afternoon. The annual Unexpected Troubles at Refineries are a couple weeks early this year.
