DEVELOPING: Usama bin Laden was given a religious funeral prior to his burial at sea, senior military officials told Fox News.
Religious rites were conducted on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier at about 1:10 a.m. Monday in the Persian Gulf.
In accordance with Islamic practice, bin Laden was washed and wrapped in a white sheet before buried at sea at 2 p.m. local time, senior U.S. military and intelligence officials said.

can’t watch the biased media today, there are too many idiots saying he should get a service and we should be nice etc plus praising their messiah
Okay, so tell us how you really know that he’s indeed dead? That’s the issue. None of us were ever talking about publicly denigrating OBL.
Winning the Future?
HUH abuse the body, do you know what we have done, we killed him multiple times host
who said abuse anyway, we should have got the body and got a pool of reporters and then had the evidence for these people
give him a muslim service are you serious?
People died and rotted, now we pay our respects because that is what some on the left want and obama wanted.
Okay. I see everyones point here.
I hear you and understand completely. I may have mis-spoke. I don’t mean it’s a “good” thing what we did. I should have posted that it was probably a more “prudent” direction. I would love nothing more than to hang him from the Freedom Tower but that would cause more outrage and innocent bloodshed. What happens on their soil is up to our military volunteers and the people who travel there. When they step into my neighborhood and kill a bunch of innocent people, that’s a whole different story. If dropping him overboard alleviates a bit of that, I guess my (and maybe only my) opinion is “good”. Keep your barbaric behavior in your own neighborhood. We’ll continue to fight the battle there. And eventually, we’ll win.
You don’t have to abuse the body, but you also don’t have to give it an Islamic burial complete with carcass washing and wrapping. It’s not the dumping it overboard that bothers me, provided they fully documented the body first, it’s deliberately following Islamic law in burying him (to the extent that they could given the circumstances) that bothers me. This is exactly what he wanted, Islamic law to be forced on us.
It wasn’t bad enough that we had to start Mirandizing terrorists overseas, now we have to start burying them according to the very Islamic law they’re trying to force on us. If we’re very, very lucky then it’s only because the commander in chief is ignorant enough to believe this will somehow appease the Jihadists or reduce their ability to use Osama’s death as a recruiting tool (we can’t fight a war while being concerned with how our enemy will perceive our actions - they’re not above lying about our actions anyway if they need to). If we’re not so lucky then it’s because our commander in chief is sympathetic to their cause.
well thank you for seeing what others have said , sometimes a couple stick to their guns regardless of it blowing them in the face
US Navy confirms it on their website. He was afforded infinitely more dignity and good treatment than the thousands of victims that he helped kill. They should’ve dumped him over the side and let the wildlife have him for dinner. Burn in hell, bastard.
Osama has surely found out by now that the 72 virgins and paradise are a big fat lie. Too bad he couldn’t see that before he got whacked. Being on his side of justice can’t be good.
I’ve always said, I would rather have one girl who know’s what she is doing than 71 or so virgins I have to teach.... but I am a lazy, lazy man....
I guess Muslims don't consider sharks to be the enemy.
Sorry mate. I am male. I have served my country in time of war, been shot, killed the enemies I was aimed at, and, as a decorated Vet, raised my boys and girls to do the same. To do their jobs to their utmost and to keep their word. To consider country first. Yeah, unfashionable, I know.
Our job is to not make our boys on the sharp end’s job harder simply to make us happy. We gain nothing by desecrating, in Muslim eyes, his corpse. He is still shark bait regardless.
Don’t get me wrong - I literally danced when the news of his death came in. The man was evil, in a way that few people can understand (I am not one of them - that sort of evil baffles me).
What torques me is the fact we have a backlog of deceased servicemembers whose families are waiting for burials at sea. So this POS, our ENEMY, goes to the front of the line because of “muslim practices.”
Screw them!! Bin Laden’s remains should’ve been shredded and fed to pigs.
Did we need this detail? Al Queda thanks you, Media.
A bit of a different take:
Yes, I would have loved for OBL to have been captured, but, with this administration, that would have just given him a platform to spew more of his vitriol.
Or, that his body would have been brought back to the US and hung by his privates from the Empire State Building, but then he would have become even more of a martyr.
Or even wrapped in a pig carcass before becoming shark bate, but that would have been a waste of a good pigskin.
I believe that we did exactly the right thing, not only because there weren’t many good options, but because I don’t know of any other country in the world that would have done what we did - despite wanting to, and having every right to, extract vengeance, we can all be proud to be Americans as a result of the professionalism and dignity displayed by Seal Team Six and their colleagues!
ohhh you forgot the line about inserting a 3 pound frozen pork loin up his ass....
Or, even the other Muslims killed in the OBL firefight.

Any respectful ceremony that starts with a two-tap to the head can't be that bad, can it?
